Received this umbrella and loved it, but like many others, our solar lights did not work. In spite of this, we loved the color and size so we ordered a 2nd umbrella to store. When the 2nd one was delivered there were instructions included, which were omitted from the 1st. The Instructions say to unscrew the solar panel on the top of the umbrella and insert the battery connector, which is just a plug, and replace the solar panel. Now the lights work. Hope this info is helpful.

I purchased the tan 10ft round umbrella over the summer, it had been holding up rather well, until I forget to close it during a recent thunderstorm. The wind picked it up about 2ft and then dropped it back down. When this happened, 3 of the clear caps fell off the lights and they stopped working. I emailed the company and asked if I could get a couple new caps, just to check if that was why it stopped working, but I didn’t expect anything because of all the reviews complaining about the company’s radio silence. I figured I’d give them a week to get back to me, then just use my old solar umbrella lights on it because the umbrella itself didn’t get hurt. I emailed on a Saturday afternoon, and Tuesday afternoon the UPS man is standing on my porch holding my replacement umbrella! I dug through my emails and found their response about wanting to make their customers happy, and that they were sorry for my inconvenience and wanted to make it right by sending me a new umbrella. Now I have 2 umbrellas, but I’ve contacted the local senior home, and I’m going to wire my spare solar lights onto the umbrella and donate it with some spare solar path lights placed into some tiki torches to their outdoor garden area.

Pay attention to the 1 star reviews, I wish I had. Almost all say the same thing that the joint that allows it to tilt to the side, breaks. I didn’t even open mine fully or try to tilt it before it completely broke under just the weight of the umbrella. Totally light weight plastic, worthless for a joint.Update: dealing with customer service has been a joke. Dropped off at a fedex with the preprinted label and waited 2 business weeks and heard nothing. Took two emails to get my refund after I got confirmation myself from fedex that it had a arrived and been signed for.

I thought my solar lights did not work. Reading the reviews I found other people complained of this. THEN, I read one review that shared if they do not work, uncover the solar panel battery ( easy twist off) and connect the plug inside. Replace the the cover and voila, they lights worked even though it is very sunny. Whoever wrote that original review, I send you applause and a big thanks. I guess some came connected and others do not. It should come with instructions just in case.

This umbrella seemed to be well made, but looks can be deceiving. I bough it in April 2019 and used it 1 summer. I always took care of it like every umbrella i've owned. I have a cover for it when it's not open and when it's closed it always had a bunge around it to keep the wind from opening it. I just went out to put the umbrella down and cushions inside and the whole umbrella pole snapped in half right where the tilt button is!! There was zero wind today! I am so disappointed... i loved the look of it and the lights on it but none of that matters if the pole is made of cheap pott metal/plastic. What a waste of money. Other umbrellas of had usually last 3 or 4 years at least, as long as you take care of them.

This snapped after the first wind gust. I had it 3 weeks. I have always tied the umbrella arms to an adjacent tree, and it's always worked. My old umbrellas lasted many years. This one lasted 3 weeks due to much thinner base tube wall thickness. I'm disappointed because I like the lights with switch. In the photos you might be able to see the wind load transmits thru a very small cross-sectional area of the cast tilt adjustment hinge down to the base. And the base is not much thicker than a soup can so it fails as you would expect. Very disappointed.

The 1st one we received, the box was damaged, the umbrella had a couple holes in the wind vent top, it had a dirty area on one side, and the solar lights didn't work. We returned it for an exchange. The return was so simple and the new umbrella was received in a couple days. This time the box was not damaged and the umbrella looked great, but again, the lights didn't work. This time I got out the included directions of what to do in that case. I had to take the umbrella out of the center of the patio table to get the solar top off and, sure enough, it was unplugged, just like the directions said it might be. It was easy to plug in and reattach the solar panel, and the lights worked great! But if that's the 2nd umbrella that came with non-working lights, and if it comes with directions as to what to do in that case, then I have a suggestion for the seller: (1) PLUG IN THE LIGHTS BEFORE SHIPPING, or (2) Change the directions to say to CHECK THE SOLAR LIGHT PLUG BEFORE YOU BOTHER PUTTING THE UMBRELLA TOGETHER AND PUTTING IT UP INTO YOUR PATIO TABLE. Even so, I still give it 5 stars and we are ordering another one for our other patio table. But this time, I'll check the solar light plug BEFORE putting the umbrella up!

Pretty good quality for the price. We'll see how it holds up with time. For those who are too cool for the manual: the switch to turn the lights on and off is on one of the support bars near the end on the side. Red switch. On is when the | icon is depressed. The solar panel at the top can be taken off pretty easily. Sorta turn and pull off the entire top thing. There's a connector dude inside. Make sure it's connected.

The umbrella is sturdy with metal pole and arms. It withstood some breezy wind conditions when we were RVing at the lake. Solar lights are reasonably bright. Overall a good product. On the others side of this I was missing a clear plastic lens on one of the 40 solar lights. The light works but the small lens cover was missing. The seller has been totally unresponsive to my inquiry about a replacement. It's a little thing but I want it right. The light switch is on one of the arms rather than the pole which makes it difficult to find when dark. Lastly the umbrella had no instructions. This would not have been an issue but at first the solar lights, despite hours of charging, would not work. The battery and the solar panels had been disconnected in the top of the umbrella. which required one to remove the cap to reconnect. This may be for purposes of shipping but there should be some notice to that end for those who may not know where to look.UPDATE 6/26/2020: Well last weekend the umbrella met its demise. It was being used at our RV on the lake and a very sudden and strong storm came up with wind gusts likely hitting 40 mph plus and accompanying hail. Just before my wife could get to the umbrella it took flight with the table and landed in the lot about 20 feet away breaking at the joint where the umbrella tilts. This piece seems to be cheap on every umbrella I looked at. Had it not been for this piece the umbrella would have survived intact. The pole and the arms of the umbrella are strong and sturdy which is why I ordered another one as opposed to an umbrella I actually liked a little better but had a thin aluminum pole, BTW my cheap $20 last year end sale umbrella I had survived despite being thrown further. It did not have the tilt mechanism though.

The color is beautiful just like the pictures. The umbrella is perfect just what we wanted. Love the lights at night just enough lights but not too bright that it brings bugs. A little top heavy even with a weighted bag and 100 pounds of sand. We are going to have to get some more weight. We loved this umbrella in fact got so many compliments on it from friends and just ppl walking by our house. It was everything we wanted. We used about 5 to 6 times than snap. The part that keeps it from coming down to fast snapped. Now my kids are afraid to use it. Plus when is snapped my daughter was taking it down and it snapped on her wrist. I was afraid for awhile that she broke it. (the Wrist) I hate that our beautiful umbrella that we loved so much can now only be used by my husband. Looking at other reviews it will be impossible to get a replacement part . The funny thing is I was sitting down today to give it a 5 star rating and talk about how it is perfect. If it had happened a few hours later that is the review you would have seen. Unfortunately it broke before that. If you want a beautiful umbrella but know it will probably break on you this is the perfect umbrella.

Wish I could give a zero! Solar panel lights up in daylight and by night leds are dead crank handle is cheap plastic and the last draw after 6 days pulley snapped and now umbrella won’t open up! Best Chinese products are past the 48 hour window, and I will be contacting my bank to dispute and I will not pay to ship this piece of junk back, and I refuse to let it go. Save yourself a headache and don’t buy!! It flips and wobbles all over the place and is not worth the headache! I want my money back as this is a true lemon of a product.

The plastic retainer which is supposed to hold the lever arm to raise or lower the umbrella broke immediately upon first use when I attempted to lower the umbrella. The retainer should be made of metal, to ensure that the retainer can sustain the weight of the umbrella.

Best of all, was fine in a wind that was making my cantilever umbrella swing like crazy and start to tip. This one just puffs out a little in the wind, doesn't even scare the cats. I've only had it a few days, though, will update if it misbehaves.Update: It did take flight in maybe 30-35mph wind. No damage, yay! I usually fold it up before a storm. In this case it was overnight & not warned.Oh! And hang the tie on the same rib as the switch so you can find the switch in the dark.

The media could not be loaded. I really want to like this umbrella - I'm a little skeptical at this time primarily because the actual umbrella pole itself (not the part that attaches into the base) seems very loose, which causes the whole umbrella to sway excessively during a light/moderate breeze (I'm moving it manually in the video to demonstrate). It may be perfectly normal - it just seems excessive.The material also seems to be very thin - the other day it was excessively hot & I was sitting under the umbrella & could still feel the sun's heat radiating down on me. The color of the umbrella is Coffee (which is a darker color), which combined with how hot it was, could account for that.We had the remnants of a tropical storm yesterday - the umbrella was closed & tied and seemed to survivor fine. We also have an 85lb base (purchased here @ Amazon), which the umbrella fits perfectly into & offers great stability below where the umbrella itself snaps in.However this morning when opening the umbrella, the crank slipped a few times - I'm hoping that it was because of the internal gear mechanism being wet & not eminent of a failure,As I mentioned in the title, I really want to like the umbrella (the lights are gorgeous at night). If I knew it would last, I would give it 5*. At the end of the season (around 4-6 weeks) I'll amend the review & stars if it is allowed.UPDATE - after 1 year...My initial concern for the stability of the umbrella fortunately didn't come to fruition. The umbrella was put away for the winter in a shed.When I took it out in the spring, I noticed that the exterior color wasn't nearly as vibrant as the interior color. As the season progressed, the color difference is much more noticeable - the exterior color is now more of a dark off-white. Picture attached of nterior flipped over exterior.The fabric also seemed to have stretched a bit, as the umbrella fabric slips out of the sleeves every time the umbrella is opened - I may use Velcro or similar to try to address this issue.And there is a small tear in one section of the fabric - unfortunately, as much as I wanted to like this umbrella, I don't think it'll last much longer, because the fabric doesn't seem to be that durable. Perhaps the other colors aren't affected by the fading, but the coffee/mocha color is.As such, I have lowered my * rating to 3*

I admit there was a light breeze, but nothing that would have damaged the umbrella that was previously there and had gotten old. **This review may get updated.**This umbrella seems like ok quality. Was not able to use due to not receiving any screws to put it together. Also the base of the umbrella has a square block and does not fit into a regular umbrella base holder. May possibly return if we can't find a base (which we purchased but not have to return) and screws to fit.

The umbrella is great. Large and seems appropriate quality for the price. However, the solar panel is not fitted well and is not able to be installed. It makes the lighting apparatus null. There were be instructions provided and while most of it is intuitive, the solar panel is either inappropriately sized or there should be installation instructions. Will probably have to return unless a new solar panel fitting can be provided.

A few small tears. Love how much shade it provides. Not stable though when breezy. Even with sandbag provided filled. Just ordered another sandbag to hopefully remedy. Falling over being so top heavy is a definite safety concern.

Looks great. LED lights work. Super easy setup up. One of the main support points on top is made of plastic. With ANY amount of wind the canopy starts to torque at that point. Locking mechanisms are weak. I hope this lasts through the summer. Also the leg material is very flimsy. Again, with any amount of wind those bend as well. Will consider adding extra bags of sand outside of the sand bag container that was supplied. Definitely need to store this away when not in use or any wind present.

This patio umbrella is great. I was a little concerned about ordering one online without touching it or verifying the quality; however, I was not disappointed. We open, tilt, rotate and close it every single day and it is proving to be a wise choice indeed. Opted to be bold and go for the green color... it's a little brighter than advertised, but it looks very nice and I'm truly pleased. Would definitely purchase from this company again.

It’s a well made umbrella. This is our first one with LED lights, everyone gets excited to use it. Assembly is super easy I didn’t even need instruction. We’ve enjoyed it the first day it arrived and will for a long time!

LOVED the color (to replace an umbrella that the north winds murdered), and it's only up a few days...(I'll update as needed) but wanted to get this review out there.It's sturdy enough (remember our north MA winds?), but I have no idea how long it will last. Waiting to see. We do put it in basement in our winters, so that can't hurt!BUT had to reduce my rating, when the umbrella's crank got stiffer and stiffer and...even my husband has issues with it. So now I had to reduce my rating to what I see is a growing issue.AND then the company reached out to me to ask about my crank problem. They advised me, that though these are tested...sometimes things happen. Could they replace it? Well, yes please AND low and behold...the replacement is PERFECT. So there we go. Off to the races, well, onto the patio under the lovely lime green umbrella.

This is a follow-up to my initial review rating giving it a 2-star. The SELLER reached out to me to resolve my issue with the umbrella's quality of the rachet mechanism and provided explanation of the LED lights must be fully charge in the sunlight for about 7hrs for it to be brighter. Thus, in my opinion SELLER customer service is outstanding given that they were willing to refund my purchase AND provide a replacement, which impress me. Bottom line: I possibly just happen to receive a defective product as this happens from time-to time; there is no such thing as zero defect when it comes to manufacturing these types of products. SELLER's response was proactive enough to satisfy me by offering an immediate refund and a replacement. My purchase is now refunded and verified... just waiting for a replacement and will take their word for it that the SELLER will send one. To me that's customer service at BEST worth a 5-star.

The lights stopped working after one week. I tried to return, but got rid of the box it came in already. So in order to repackage the product it would have cost more money , and been so time consuming. I decided, to just keep it with the lights not working. I find it annoying when I use the umbrella, at night and the lights don't work. I hate it, because I spent more money to get one that had solar lights. errrrr

Im absolutely in love with my back yard umbrella now. It matches perfectly with our back yard view. Instead buying expensive plastic sand boxes we installed it with concrete 16x16 paver blocks. it took my husband less then 15 minutes to assemble and install umbrella. So far very happy with purchase. Umbrella looks very well made and durable.

Great product and out of this world service . Had issues with umbrella retracting contacted seller they walked thru various steps did not function. They sent new umbrella without being asked said to keep the one I had. Two days later I did some more checking and it works. I contacted company asked them to not send replacement, they did anyway. I offered to pay for the additional umbrella. Jordon my contact stated No payment is required. You just don’t find companies very often that treat there customers that professionally .

We bought a 9' LeConte umbrella at the same time and zero issues with that one. This LeConte cantilever umbrella has the same nice, durable material as the 9'.However, the lower portion of the triangle used to adjust it up and down is made of plastic. Evidently, very cheap plastic. The very first day we had it up the very light breeze we had that day caught the umbrella and twisted the above mentioned plastic part and snapped it. Not a good first impression. We sent it back.A day or two after I sent it back I received an email from the company offering I could keep my broken umbrella and they'd send me a new one for free...no strings attached. Until, a few days later after I'd agreed to accept their replacement umbrella...then they asked if I could change my review. I'd already thought I might or at least modify my review once the new umbrella arrived and was used outside for more than a day.***Update*** it's been approximately three weeks, no umbrella, no tracking number as promised right away, no more emails and someone deleted the one's they sent. Suspicious.

If you're hesitant to purchase because of the price, but yet you're torn because you need a good, quality umbrella...just get it. I went round and round before purchasing, but I'm so happy we made the investment.There's a previous review that talks about tips when putting the umbrella together...read it for sure. The installation insructions are very minimal, so we missed the part about installing the LED part first. We ended up just using a ladder to attach it. You also want to make sure you remove ALL the protective packaging on the interior of the fabric or else you won't be able to fully open the umbrella.We had zero lighting on our deck and so the LED light feature is AMAZING. Update: looks brand new after removing the cover from its winter sleep. The square version is so elegant.I under estimated the size of this umbrella. It’s huge and I am very glad I bought the purple leaf stand that goes with it, perfect fit. I’m glad I measured my patio which is 10 feet wide. Be sure you have plenty of room to swing it around and open and close it. I have to swing it around to close it because of my patio furniture. This is no problem because it rotates very easily around my patio. I have utilize the cantilever to shade my garden during the hot summer heat wave.

When this arrived, the tent/canvas had some holes. We went through the return process with Amazon and they were very helpful and responsive. Before we actually returned it, my husband decided to contact Purple Leaf. They were SO helpful. We sent pictures and order information and they sent a new tent/canvas without any question. I would highly recommend this umbrella - we have thoroughly enjoyed it and hope to continue for a long time. It's easy to use and very effective. And it looks very nice on our patio. I also recommend because both Amazon and Purple Leaf were GREAT to work with us when there was a problem.

I was definitely concerned that this umbrella would end up bent or broken based on other reviews. However it's done great in these NE Tennessee mountain winds. We did purchase a 26lb umbrella stand and just slid umbrella thru hole in table and down inside stand. Did Not anchor it down by screwing bolt into side. We felt giving it ability to move/twist when windy would prevent stress and cause it to break. That's worked perfectly so far. We do not leave the umbrella up 24/7. Only when we need it.Easy assembly,may need 2 people if you're short in order to manuver. It's a heavy umbrella and seems of good quality. Love the solar lights as well. Price for a 9ft w/ lights was great.It's been up for about 4 weeks. Will update if need be.

The umbrella was delivered quickly and appears to be great quality for the cost. I had some trouble getting the lights to work at first, not realizing that it needed to be connected. I sent a request for help to the seller and received a response very quickly. It is a great addition to our deck and I am very happy with both the product and the seller.

We received this umbrella earlier than expected. We emailed the seller with questions and always received a response. The umbrella is beautiful and the lights give just the right amount of ambient lighting when dark. The span covers our entire table and keeps it very shaded during the day. We looked for a windproof umbrella because we get a Delta Breeze of an evening and have to constantly close our old umbrellas. We have not had to close this one. At first I was very excited for this umbrella. The solar lights are nice, color vibrant. But one gust of wind on a mild day snapped the post and rendered the umbrella useless. This occurred less than two months into owning it, and the umbrella was not even opened. I contacted the seller to give them the opportunity to replace the umbrella before writing this review and received no response. Don’t waste your money. This umbrella is not worth it. I would never buy this product again.

We had an issue with our umbrella the second use- the small plastic piece near the lock snapped. I reached out to the company to see if they could send a replacement part and explained it was an accident and how could we work together to fix it. I included a photo with my message and a few hours later I had a response from the company. They generously offered to send a new umbrella! Their customer service rep- I believe Jeremy was so understanding and went above and beyond my ask. The replacement umbrella arrives quickly so we can enjoy our outdoor patio all day long. I was so impressed with their customer service you just don’t see dedication to do right by the product and the consumer every day.The umbrella itself is very easy to set up. It’s a very heavy umbrella and may need two people to get it set up. The base can be used with several types of weights. I opted for a sand bag weight because the patio we have is stone and felt sand weights would work best. So far so good!

Every single one of our shade trees succumbed to a disaster called wood bore worms. Every tiny leaf perished at the wiggly wrath of worms. With no trees for shade, our backyard was at the mercy of full, hot, unadulterated, level 11 UV sunlight. Please understand that our UV rays go all the way up to 11. After sweltering beside the pool in this warm hell, some genius (me. Yes, as I recall it was me) declared necessary relief. Sweat beads dripped from our chins as we nodded in agreeance. We needed some shade. Isn't the word "agreeance" spelled peculiarly?Since we already had a table and set of chairs, we didn't need to purchase another table with the built in umbrella. We needed an independently standing structure and chose this product. Please be aware that this product includes the umbrella with an offset arm. The base must be purchased separately. More on that "laters", if you know what I mean. I embrace the term "Laters" myself as it feels light and airy and playful, while retaining it's grammatically incorrect intrigue. We chose a color matching our existing chairs.Fortunately there is another member of our household who realized that it's absolutely necessary to purchase a stand to support the umbrella. Imagine that. (That's the "laters" part). Had that realization not occurred, we would be sitting outside, under our Amazon purchased "wikiwiki Offset Umbrella 10 ft Cantilever Patio Umbrella Hanging Market Umbrella Outdoor Umbrella" while the 14 year old kid of ours failed at her attempt to wrestle the umbrella in the wind that is no longer broken by the trees that were eaten by bore worms. We saw all that coming so we purchased the bases. The base was sold separately in a set of four (about $80) which we filled with sand. Take our advice, and use a nice clean funnel to fill the bases with 40 pounds of sand each. Base weight with sand was sufficient to provide ample structure for the umbrella. We're still talking about the umbrella, right?I researched to find that for every 1 foot of umbrella, 10 pounds of support weight is necessary. Of course, we can argue physics all day but I'd rather not since I'm partial to chemistry. Apparently, under normal circumstances, one needs 10 pounds of base weight for 1 foot of umbrella circumference.

The color (Aqua) is perfect, the fabric seems durable, and the the solar lights work great. The umbrellas are much taller than expected and I am unable to reach the safety pin towards the top that goes into the pole when it is opened. The pin is to keep the umbrella from unfolding back down. But I have never had this feature on any past umbrellas. So when the umbrella is up I don’t put the pins in at the top and they haven’t unfolded back down yet and I have them up every day since I bought them (about 45 days). If later on I find that I need to put the pins in. I will use a step stool to reach them. But again, it’s a safety measure and even if they do unfold I don’t think they would unfold so fast or hard that it would seriously hurt someone. Overall, definitely a good price for a good product. Also, we live in a high desert region and winds are common. They can manage breezy days well but I do have great umbrella stands and I never leave them up over night or when we will be gone for long periods of time bc a windy day or night can come anytime and common sense deems that no umbrella exist in the world that can withstand nature’s windy days or nights. Also, the round umbrella doesn’t turn in a breeze, but the wind does catch the corners of the rectangular umbrella and it turns slightly. I put a shim in my umbrella stands between the umbrellas’ pole and the screw that tightens the pole in the stands’ cylinder. So the screw tightens INTO the shim and not on the pole which keeps the pole more secure and tight so it can’t turn in a breeze versus when the screw is tightened directly onto the metal pole. I definitely recommend this product.

Easy to construct, very easy to open / adjust, easy to move by single person. Angle adjustments and rotation work great; I'm glad we got a unit that can rotate as it cuts down on the number of times I have to physically move it. The cover is very well though out with having a rod embedded to make it easier to slip over the top. The fabric feels substantial, so I'm sure it'll hold up a long time in our application (periodic use of only a few hours at a time a few days a week) as it'll be inside the cover most of the time.My only concern is that it seems like between the vertical track slop and the rotation lug slop that there can be fairly substantial left/right movement of the umbrella even in the very light wind we've had so far (it moves almost a full foot left/right). I'm interested to see how the mechanism holds up with it constantly rocking back and forth within the rotational slop. Tighter machining tolerances between the two items wouldve made this appear more solid.

This umbrella is certainly big, easy to assemble and put up. But my lord, even the slightest breeze and this thing is almost sideways!!! It is wobbly and poorly made, and ridiculous. Our base is weighted so it won’t fly away, but it moves SO MUCH it is going to break in a hot second. Unbelievable. Can’t even put it up because it wobbles so much it won’t keep you covered from the sun!! Junk Junk Junk. Waste of money.

It was pretty easy to assemble and set up. I picked this one because of comments on some of the others not being very sturdy. It opens and closes very easy. I like that it includes a peddle to rotate the umbrella. The lights are nice. They are not super bright but bright enough for sitting at night. Don't forget to buy the weights that are separate. You will need them to keep the umbrella from falling over.

I just put up this umbrella on my backyard deck this evening. The solar circle that goes on top of the umbrella easily snaps in place. The lights under the umbrella are pretty. I bought this umbrella to tilt into the westward sun late in the day. By the time I had installed it I could see if it was blocking the sun properly and it was. It is a nice large umbrella and the crank handle easily opens up the canopy. However the umbrella does twist a little bit in the wind given the size of the canopy. There is a gentle breeze blowing this evening with some gusts but not too bad. I wish the upper mechanism that holds the canopy in place didn’t spin in the wind. As it is it might be OK. I will update my review in the next day or two once I’ve had a chance to use the umbrella for a few days.Edit: I had to mount the back of the mounting bracket directly to a 4 x 4 upright on my deck because the spindle was too narrow and flexible and I was afraid it might break. When I unscrewed the wing nuts from the bolt I noticed rust. I was hoping the bolts would have been galvanized.I also noticed that when there is more than a slight breeze that the top canopy of this umbrella swivels somewhat. So far it hasn’t broken but it does swivel around the centerpoint by more than a few degrees in each direction. I appreciate that this umbrella is very lightweight so it makes tilting the umbrella up and down very easy.Edit 8-20-19 We had a few heavy gusts of wind blow through recently and I was not home to put the umbrella down. These were not storm level wins but more around 12 to 15 mph with gusts slightly higher. One of the supporting ribs detached from the umbrella center point. When the umbrella is fully open it looks like that rib is bent. I have to see if it’s easy to re-insert. If you live near a windy area I would suggest an alternative to this umbrella. Otherwise it’s been working fine and providing a nice shady spot.Edit: June 2020. The umbrella has been out for almost 2 months for the second summer now. The umbrella fabric now has several holes in it. It looks like it has failed in the direct sun.

This is high quality construction and easy to use. The pole is made of a strong metal but THE POLE is just tiny bit TOO BIG for 1.5" holders that are not adjustable and/or made for 1.5" or smaller poles. Easy-to-use would seem redundant but I've examined other market umbrellas and some are oddly difficult to open, tilt and or/lock into the open position and the AOK market umbrella does each of these as easily as one would expect. Early reviewer status means that I rec'd a $3 credit AFTER I'd reviewed this. I HOPE YOU FOUND THIS HELPFUL!

Very disappointed in the quality. We had an umbrella for our patio furniture that was 5 yrs old and we only replaced it because the material looked so worn. We thought we’d try out a different shape (rectangle instead of round) and thought this was a good choice. We bought March 2020 but due to COVID we didn’t put it up since we weren’t having company. Finally put it out about 2 weeks ago and it already broke. And not just broke, the pole just bent over completely and the metal pieces broke off. Unfortunately since we bought it last year it isn’t under and warranty or anything. Don’t waste your money

I ordered the reddish umbrella, the color impressive and pleasing to my significant other. product seems well constructed, material of the umbrella seems thick enough for its purpose of sun protection. i cannot comment whether the fabric is water repellent. I cannot comment whether the fabric will fade with sun exposure. typical of most umbrellas i have had, the cable to raise and lower the shade is of braided cord: cannot comment about the longevity before the cord fails, but it seems substantial enough to last a few seasons. I like the fact that this umbrella has an articulating joint which may be useful depending on the sun position. one thing i did notice is that it is possible to lower the umbrella past its lowest point, and am unsure if doing so will damage the cord system for raising and lowering the unit: there fore, I would caution against over cranking to lower the umbrella. delivery was timely, right on the advertised date. all in all, i am particularly pleased with the umbrella, and am surprised that such seeming quality can be had for such a low price.UPDATE: i have to revise my original review, from 5 stars to 4 stars, as after 6 months, the umbrella has suffered significant fading. the original maroonish color is now sunbleached. this may be a universal issue for umbrellas in our searing Texas sun, for i noticed my neighbor's red umbrella has suffered the same change. perhaps a better choice would have been a white or tan color? the mechanics of the umbrella, however, remain sound. btw, it may be wise for the reader to tie a cord around the bottom of the closed umbrella, as wasps love the confines of the umbrella, welcoming the unsuspecting with a nasty sting when opening!!

So huge! LOL So far, so great! Its quality is durable and thick. I wish it came with a storage back, but that's not too important. Certainly shouldn't be a deal breaker if your comparing items like I did. I went with this umbrella because the pictures showed it to be a better coffee brown than the other two I was looking at. I'm glad I went with this one because it did not disappoint. And its canvas fabric is just as expected. The other two fabrics didn't look quite right. One looked too thin and the other one looks silky. That was not what I was looking for. I was trying to match some outdoor canvas fabric chairs and this is a near match. You would have to look at the fabrics under a magnifying glass to see the difference!

The quality of this umbrella is very low. I returned my initial purchase because the fabric at the top of the umbrella was not connected to the base. The replacement arrived with poor stitching and threads hanging all over the place. When I attempted to assemble the two pieces (they just slide together), I realized one of the poles was bent significantly where the poles attach. I would suggest trying a different brand.

The umbrella is nice. The lights are actually pretty bright. However, the pole that it comes with is extremely cheap! The smallest gust of wind bent the pole and snapped it in half. I tried contacting the company and no response. Be cautious on the absolutely cheap material the pole is made of. Horrible communication from the company!

Year old update: This product arrives and sets up very easily! It seemingly is a great quality and looks beautiful! HOWEVER, the lights would not consistently work within the first month. In working w customer service they provided a new solar battery and this did not repair the issue. The solar battery would store during the day and work while sun was out (when you don’t need lights) but not at all in the evening. After working with customer service multiple times they were suggesting that I do some thing on my end that just never worked. I gave up working with the company and just used it without the lights. Last month, without any winds happening and with the umbrella down, the umbrella snapped on the bend in the adjustable pole...Metal pieces came apart. No storm, no wind, and it just snapped. This umbrella is beautiful and seemingly high-quality. However, it just has been a problem for me from the start. In replacing the umbrella, I would not choose this company. Maybe it is a fluke thing but they did not replace the umbrella and make it right from the start.

I chose this one due to the negative reviews of all other companies. It’s been pretty windy with a lot of rain and I put it down for that for precaution , but happy so far. Denver sun bleaches everything instantly so we scotchguarded and bought the covers since the main selling point was that black matches the trim on our newly painted house. No fading so far and no weird damage like some mentioned. This company was great to do business with. My only gripe is that the stick to hold stability is about eight feet hight and so is the double light switch. It’s not dark yet, so you can’t tell, but the lights are just the right bright and nice you can use one or both. I’ve never seen a black solid market umbrella before. My house is white with black trim, solid black roof, and red brick. It looks très chic with the umbrellas. Just turn the lights on before you raise it unless you’re hiring a basketball player. Also, I had to plug the solar panel in on top-took two seconds, but I would have thought the lights didn’t work. The switch goes to “0” for lights and l to charge. I think my husband manually turns it off in the morning. I love my umbrellas!! So, I bought these in late May or early June. We had a lot of rain during that time so they weren’t installed until about mid-June. So many people complain about the color fading and I was worried about that as well. So here’s the update on September 17th: color is just as vivid black as when I first installed them. We sit in loungers under the lit umbrellas almost every night while the dogs get their before bed romp, and I’m struck every time by how beautiful there

UPDATED 8/16/21 - Well, I finally was able to get the umbrella set up after receiving instructions from the mfr. While the umbrella did not stand up with the provided base, I purchased the rolling base from Purple Leaf and it now seems VERY stable, rolls well, swivels well. And the customer service (that occurred presumably from my review since I didn't call) was exceptional. They followed up to see if I figured it out and it was working, sent instructions and videos. My rating would be a 5* if I didn't have to ask for instructions. A large printout like what was sent to me should be in the box and the video link was very helpful and could also be provided.ORIGINAL REVIEW - Well, as other have said the instructions are crap. It took so much longer putting it together than it should have while trying to figure out the picture instructions which were very confusing. I think the manufacturer should say that the included cross stand will NOT hold the umbrella up WITHOUT being weighted down or bolted to the ground. I thankfully ordered the rolling base which I'm waiting for so I won't be using it until that arrives since it won't stand up and I don't want to anchor it. Other than instructions and the inability to use it out of the box (without bags of sand or anchoring), I can't give it a 5*...but it seems sturdy so we'll see.

Very sturdy and well built frame, but fabric FADES!!! After 3-4 weeks in the sun in March this originally green umbrella is almost white. If we wanted a white umbrella we wouldn’t have bought a green one. Even if it had stayed green for 6 months to a year we may have been ok with this $80+ umbrella. It also has a steel pole that will most likely rust- should have looked into that too and opted for an aluminum one. For $25 more we are already replacing this umbrella with a green one with sumbrella non-fade 5 year guarantee and an aluminum pole. Hurts to learn the hard way and throw $80 away. Wish manufacturer guaranteed this original one against quickly fading.

The lights are working, though they are not super bright. They are bright enough to light the table and see each other at night, not bright enough to light up the patio or deck like LED lights. We use it over a 6 x 3 table and it provides shade for all. What I do like about this umbrella is that it has not blown away, or attempted to blow away. We put a screw through the heavy base holder (not included) and the bottom of the umbrella. We did this to our other umbrellas, but they would still blow over and take the table down with them. The winds on our deck can get pretty crazy sometimes, but this one has stood up to it so far. We keep it slightly below it's full height so the wind can blow through it and it has been working pretty well! The color is nice. The fabric is kind of thin and there were several threads hanging that needed to be trimmed, but overall, it does what it is supposed to do, is fairly lightweight and the price was very reasonable for an umbrella with lights, vents and that tilts as needed to block the sun! The construction seems pretty solid. We like it very much and are considering purchasing another one.

First, the (only) positive is that this is as BIG umbrella and just what we wanted and provides good shade from the sun. Now for the not-so-good things...Umbrella is pretty unstable and rocks about a lot. The three-tiered canopy seems like a good idea, but some of the material on the layers gets caught up when opening it up and one of the straps was broken. No big deal, but a pain nonetheless. Also, the biggest and main downside for us, it is NOT waterproof!! All umbrellas I have owned in the past have been, so it was a surprise when we found out that this umbrella wasn't. This is a big problem for us since we like to sit outside a lot, even if there is a passing rain shower.I would not buy this again.

The look of the umbrella is great! The umbrella itself is pretty heavy and you may need some assistance to set it up. The top part of the umbrella is very sturdy and made of a heavy weight material. The lights came on in the night and they were pretty strong but not to overpowering and looked good. It created a good ambiance. Now to the bad part, the bottom portion of the umbrella Pole is not made out of the same material, as the top part, and it bent in half when a slight breeze blew, on the first night! It seems the top portion is too heavy for the bottom part of the pole. It was hard to keep it steady, even while using the base, especially when using it a 45 degree angle. If the bottom portion of the pole is made of the same material as the top portion it may hold the weight better and not bend. I believe that would make the umbrella much sturdier and of better quality to match the overall look and feel of it.

It really is a very nice umbrella. My only complaint is the fabric top is so thin, can actually see through it. Was worried about damage because box was broken through and sliced marks on the plastic umbrella was put in. Thank my lucky stars it seems to be ok. Hope it lasts a few seasons, fabric is pretty thin. Nice size, looks nice, love the lights, and the navy color.

My husband purchased this 10ft Solar LED Offset Patio Umbrella for me because I told him that I'd like to get something to get us more shade on our patio. So after I talked to him about that, this patio umbrella shows up a few days later! I am so happy with this patio umbrella. It's nice and big, and we have a small patio, so this large umbrella shades most of our patio now; and another great thing about this umbrella is it has little LED lights on the underside of the umbrella so later in the evening/night time I can turn these LED lights on. Do yourself a favor and stay away from this umbrella and this company. The solar panel didn't even fit in the hole that it was supposed to and they are not giving me my money back. I want them to take this piece of crap back because it does me no good. Even with the 50 lb weight at the base to hold it down doesn't help which was bought separately. It wobbles in 8 mile per hour winds and the solar panel won't work. They aren't trying to give me my money back and take this piece of crap away. Save yourself and your money it's not worth it

When I got my umbrella, I planned on using it for my end of summer backyard party…the umbrella arrived with a missing solar piece, so I couldn’t use the lights at night. We were so disappointed because it was so expensive. I reached out to the seller, and we went back and forth via email for like a month and a half. They provided me with a new solar piece and gave me back $13. I am very upset about this treatment, especially since it caused so much inconvenience. I had to keep remembering to check my emails in Amazon for a lousy $13. I do not recommend. The umbrella is not even sturdy, even with sand in the base, it knocks over. Bad quality and bad service.

This is a very attractive umbrella, but not heavy enough to keep from blowing away with strong wind gusts. I was disappointed when I removed it from the box and felt how lightweight it was. My old umbrella was heavier metal that screwed together. This one is aluminum and "clips" together. Had I realized that it was made in China and was not solidly constructed, I would not have ordered it. Unfortunately, I could not get it out of the box without ripping the box apart, so cannot return it. My old one cost only $20.00 more, was better built and came with a carrying and storage case. This one is good enough until I can find a better one.

We have had the umbrella up for a week or so, and we love it! 10 foot umbrella throws a lot of nice shade, and I just love the solar lights - not to bright but nice ambiance. Love the color! My only small complaint is that the switch for the lights are at the end of one of the umbrella tips, and being vertically challenged that I am, I have to lower the umbrella a bit to operate the switch. No biggie. Have not yet tried the tilt function because again, vertically challenged at 5 feet tall and I can’t reach it, lol. You may not have this problem. Also like that there is a built in Velcro strap to secure it when closed (no bungee cord necessary). All in all, we are thoroughly enjoying this umbrella.

Thought this was the greatest umbrella for the price and then the solar worked for 15 minutes and hasn’t worked since. and now I have to try and return this huge umbrella with no box no packaging what a complete drag. When something of this size is defective the seller should just send you a new one or someone to pick it up and do the return for you.

After a handful of uses, I feel that I am now ready to now leave a meaningful and educated review. After searching far and wide for patio umbrellas with available built in lighting for a reasonable price, with decent reviews; I finally landed on this item, and glad I am. All items/components were shipped in timely manner, and where received undamaged. Assembly was simple and quick, and all mechanisms (crank, tilt, lights/solar panel) work as advertised. I have no issues or complaints to report as of this point in time; and I would recommend purchasing this item, as we love this addition to our patio set.

Super Easy to put together! Nice construction. I like the ring light around the pole that is controlled by its own switch as well as the rib LED light points with their own switch. I really like the strap closure with Velcro instead of just tiring two strips of fabric together.

We wanted an Olefin umbrella for durability but takeout this one. Although Polyester, it’s thick. The frame is also better built than other as much or slightly more expensive. This one also has more lights.

There were no directions with this product only a picture with dimensions. Went online to find instructions, here to only a picture. Where ever it is placed there has to be enough room for one to get behind to crank the umbrella into position. If you are short, you will need something to stand on. Other than that the umbrella looks great.

In fairness, it was a big wind storm that finally snapped an arm. For the last two years this has been a great umbrella. It is top heavy enough that you need a weight at the base and a table to keep it upright in even a breeze of middling strength. Even after the hard fall the lights still work (except the one right where the arm snapped). The lights have always provided plenty of light to dine by and we have really enjoyed the umbrella. If it hadn't broken we'd still be using it. As it is, I am typing this review sitting under it (with a lopsided cast due to the broken arm). It was stored in my workshop over both Winters and only saw use Spring through Fall which I believe extended the life of the fabric cover. This year, some small holes are appearing but they could be fall-related. For the price, this umbrella was a great value and I have no doubt would have made it through another outdoor dining season if not for the fall.

I purchased this item in Mar 2019 and used it in my home in southern California through the spring, summer and fall of 2020, and put it away for the winter. When there were heavy winds, I would always drop the shade to protect it. After 1 year the cloth is faded and torn, and just today - April 5, 2020, when I was sitting at the table, one of the arms broke away from it's pivot point. The connection at the crank is not very secure and even in light breeze the pole creaks and is not as stable and it should be. For $100 ($99.95) that I paid, the value is not what I'd hoped. Even at today's special price of $85-$89 it is not a good value. I wasn't necessarily looking for a 5 year product (there are brands for ~$250 with a 5 year warranty) but 2 would have been nice.

I purchased several of these led umbrellas by Trademark Innovations in 2015 (new pool installed) and recently replaced a couple that were damaged when I neglected to put them down before a storm. The quality of the newer ones is better (heavier materials) than the ones I first purchased in 2015.I managed to find most via Warehouse Deals (and refurbished this year - like new) and haven't spent more than ~60.00 on the 6.5 x 10 versions - I have 2 of those and 3 of the 9' round ones. If there's ever anything wrong (one was missing the solar panel which was shipped and arrived two days later at no charge) their customer service is outstanding...you don't find that much anymore.I had put one of the big ones up in a small bistro table that had an umbrella hole in it, and it blew over (didn't have a heavy enough base at the time) and seriously scraped up the bottom of the pole. I called to see if I could purchase the bottom pole separately, and they shipped one for no charge. Seriously, their customer service is awesome.When one quit lighting up I emailed about it and they told me that the batteries might need to be replaced. I felt silly that I didn't pay attention to the fact that they had batteries in addition to being little solar panels. You can use regular AA's - rechargeable solar batteries aren't necessary.My only complaint is that the canopies fade pretty quickly, but I leave them up most of the time and they get full Florida sun for most of the day, so I think that's inevitable. I did try some UV protective spray one year, made for boat tops, but it didn't seem to help. I've just end up getting new tops every year or so.I do recommend, especially for the 6.5 x 10 umbrellas, to get a very heavy base/stand. I went with decorative for the first ones that only weighed about 20 lbs and that was a mistake - ended up going with 55 lb concrete bases and haven't had any issues with those.

Nice umbrella for it's kind, and for most can cost you up to $1,000, but one thing they all have in common is that none of them come what they refer to as a weight (stand). However for an umbrella this size, it acts as a "sturdy stand", hence given the water filled weight. You can't have any other. As it comes, your required to bolt down two cheap cross bars into your deck or slab, which now you have drilled holes into your foundation and it can't be moved! They're all necessary for this size & type umbrellas. Just another way to show a cheaper price and somewhat hide the needed weight within the description and not flag it out in front. Once you receive the product and realize this "missing necessity", you'll need to shall out another $147. It's known as selective advertising. They certainly now the need for it. Figuratively speaking, pretty soon you'll buy a car and come to find that the engine is additional. Lastly, there's no replacement cover, which also protects the solar panel that faces straight up. The cover will rot away in less than a year, due to one's climant and there's no customer service number provided and/or link. Now you know!

Purchased the water base and 12’ umbrella. Easy assembly - but BUYER BEWARE - Step 3 (Solar Assembly) should be done PRIOR to Step 2 (Umbrella Assembly). The directions call for you to step the umbrella onto the base, and THEN deal with the Solar Panel (which would be at the top of the umbrella, some 8’ off the ground).

I was very excited to get this 12' black umbrella for our deck after reading the reviews and seeing the the beautiful pictures with assorted colors to choose from. I had purchased the large base separately which fits perfectly with the umbrella. Having a solar panel to provide energy for lighting is a great idea and marketing tool but in actuality it DOES NOT WORK THAT WAY. My issues started during the assembly where it says connect the USB wire to the solar panel and feed the wire down through the middle of the top of the umbrella.....which I did. Then I attached the umbrella to the base and opened the umbrella and discovered 2 major issues: 1) The USB wire doesn't even connect to the battery from the solar panel. 2)There was a damaged support bar underneath the umbrella (see pics)I immediately looked for the support page in the assembly and operations guide to find a website with just an email and a separate email. NO PHONE NUMBER. So I emailed my concerns and they replied 2 days later saying that the battery housing needs to be unscrewed from the under structure, plug the USB into that and then plug the other end into a phone charger which then plugs into the wall. That is not what I had in mind for a "solar panel" powered light source. So I emailed again to ask how does the solar panel work??? They replied the next day saying the only way is with the phone charger method. Sent email #3 asking for them to call me on my cell since there was no phone number listed on their website or in the manual so we can discuss all the issues I am having. They called the next day in the afternoon and I could not answer for I was seeing a patient in the middle of a procedure (dentist) so they left a message saying " I am from purple leaf and calling you"...That's it! The number was a out of ordinary number with 13 numbers in the ID. I tried to call them back but could not complete the call. Sent email #4 asking to please call during my lunch hour which is 12-1 and I will definitely answer. They emailed back the next day saying they will call during the designated time and they NEVER did!!!!! I guess it's safe to say that I am using a damaged umbrella that is not solar powered and getting by with it. My message to anyone considering buying one of these umbrellas from purple leaf is that the support is a big fat JOKE and they don't seem to put any effort to stand behind their product and make things right for the consumer.Thanks!!!

Read all the reviews and was hesitant but took the plunge. So glad I did. The color is great and I love the lighting. I bought this along with another "clip on" light fixture because I knew it wouldn't provide the amount of light we wanted. We live in a very windy area so we lower it when it's bad and haven't had a single issue with damage. We also bought a heavy weighted base for extra stability.

I love this umbrella. We got it a little quicker than expected, so that was nice. Easy to setup. Opens and closes easily using the crank. Tested the tilt and it worked fine. Many people complained about the tilt being weak and even breaking on the first use. I couldn't find any issues with the tilt. The lights had power right out of the box. I liked the fact it has a switch on the pole for the lights. I'm excited to try it at night and see how it looks. It immediately changed the temperature at our table by 10 degrees under the umbrella. If it lasts more than a year, it'll be worth it. It's less than half the price of similar umbrellas at the local DIY stores. I found several different brands of this same umbrella on Amazon at varying prices. This one was the cheapest I found.

Light is definitely helpful for eating dinner on summer nights. Very plasticky and I hope that the solar battery/panel will last for a few years. 10ft diameter is a very nice diameter. Easy to assemble and very straight forward. Fabric is the same with my other 10 year old umbrella wc I relocated somewhere else in the backyard. So I think that will last for quite a bit hopefully. The price seemed reasonable for what it is so I bought 4, 2 in tan and 2 in wine red. I think it’s a very good buy for what it is. I highly recommend it for now.
