Great umbrella! The solar lights are on the blueish side but do cast a nice glow to sit under and converse. The small on and off switch is a nice feature and the light beige color is more off white which is what I wanted. It is a very nice white. It also seems to be pretty durable as mine blew over in some heavy winds and survived unscathed.

Out of the box impressed! Didn’t feel this woul likely be a top grade umbrella given the price but I must say I think I stand corrected. The actual canopy material is much thinner than the one I paid about 4 times as much for but I have to say the pole is much better and that’s what I needed most. My pole had the tilt pin break out during a bad storm so I just needed the rod to replace the broken one but I’m so impressed that I’m going to use it as new out of the box and if the canopy fades I’ll just switch them out at that time. I think anyone would be very pleased with this at this price! If not, you must be difficult to please. just my honest opinion. The solar lights even worked right out of the box and the umbrella was neatly packaged with extra care to ensure mint condition on delivery!Ps.... it is a true burgundy/wine. Not red at all.

Very sturdy and well built frame, but fabric FADES!!! After 3-4 weeks in the sun in March this originally green umbrella is almost white. If we wanted a white umbrella we wouldn’t have bought a green one. Even if it had stayed green for 6 months to a year we may have been ok with this $80+ umbrella. It also has a steel pole that will most likely rust- should have looked into that too and opted for an aluminum one. For $25 more we are already replacing this umbrella with a green one with sumbrella non-fade 5 year guarantee and an aluminum pole. Hurts to learn the hard way and throw $80 away. Wish manufacturer guaranteed this original one against quickly fading.

The lights are working, though they are not super bright. They are bright enough to light the table and see each other at night, not bright enough to light up the patio or deck like LED lights. We use it over a 6 x 3 table and it provides shade for all. What I do like about this umbrella is that it has not blown away, or attempted to blow away. We put a screw through the heavy base holder (not included) and the bottom of the umbrella. We did this to our other umbrellas, but they would still blow over and take the table down with them. The winds on our deck can get pretty crazy sometimes, but this one has stood up to it so far. We keep it slightly below it's full height so the wind can blow through it and it has been working pretty well! The color is nice. The fabric is kind of thin and there were several threads hanging that needed to be trimmed, but overall, it does what it is supposed to do, is fairly lightweight and the price was very reasonable for an umbrella with lights, vents and that tilts as needed to block the sun! The construction seems pretty solid. We like it very much and are considering purchasing another one.

First, the (only) positive is that this is as BIG umbrella and just what we wanted and provides good shade from the sun. Now for the not-so-good things...Umbrella is pretty unstable and rocks about a lot. The three-tiered canopy seems like a good idea, but some of the material on the layers gets caught up when opening it up and one of the straps was broken. No big deal, but a pain nonetheless. Also, the biggest and main downside for us, it is NOT waterproof!! All umbrellas I have owned in the past have been, so it was a surprise when we found out that this umbrella wasn't. This is a big problem for us since we like to sit outside a lot, even if there is a passing rain shower.I would not buy this again.

Box arrived, we set it up, all quite easy.Put it outside through the center of the table & locked it in place.LED's work well, its construction is fairly sturdy, BUT..... the lovely forest green umbrella we purchasedfaded to pale blue within 20 days & continues to do so. I suspect by the end of summer it will be very close towhite.For this reason alone I don't recommend it even though it is well built.I'll give it 2 stars simply because the LED's work it charges up well & is fairly solid construction, not at all worth what they are asking for it price wise.Just for comparison our supermarket 39$ umbrella didn't fade until halfway through its second summer.But 20 Days??, that's just pure BS!!!If aesthetics count for you don't touch this thing with a barge pole....If it were priced at say, $39.99 might be worth it otherwise keep scrolling & searching. Good luck!UPDATE:1 LED's stopped working several weeks ago2 The crank cord for raising & lowering the umbrella snapped. Took it to local guy who specializes in fixing these things & other expensive patio items. I was told it was poorly made not worth repairiing."not your fault" he said, people get suckered into buying these things all the time.3 The tilt joint is so poorly milled that its always askew no matter what you do.4 In 2 days time from writing this update, its trash day & IT WILL be trashed WITH EXTREME PREJUDICE!!All in all a bad product, it lasted 4 months, 4MONTHS??? So we got this one because we did not want to spend too much, and end up with the wrong size or one that only lasted for one year and have to buy again. We have been pleasantly surprised. The crank up/down mechanism seems much more sturdy that we expected given the cost. The material is thick enough to hold out the sun during our Florida early summer heat---it's been over 90 several days already. We store it in the down position, but sitting in our umbrella stand outside on the porch in the sun.I'd recommend this one to anyone. Right now, I think we are going to get multiple years out of it--I don't see any wear on it at all and we've been using it for a couple months or so, but only crank it up/down every couple of weeks so far given the weather. It seems to be an inch or two smaller than advertised in diameter, but it works for the space. There is a stop to keep you from cranking it too high--seems nothing will happen to that. My guess is that the first thing to go will be whatever is inside that pulls it up, but you can't see that. The pole itself looks nice and classy enough to pass by anywhere. It fits inside our standard diameter umbrella stand.

We ordered this umbrella on July 1st, and less than 3 weeks later it's broken in half. The umbrella itself is in great condition, and the lights work. There is a small metal "button" where the upper and lower half of the umbrella pole connects, and that little metal button broke. I don't know if this is normal for others or just a faulty umbrella. Otherwise, the solar panel is fine and the button to turn the lights on and off works great, the color is a pretty summer aqua that looks great. Just need to get a better way to attach both ends of this umbrella pole together.

Lights stopped working after the second use. First two uses they were fairly dim. After that they won’t even power up. Have already disposed of the packaging before they failed. Not worth hassle of sending back without the box it was shipped in originally. Crank to raise and lower the canopy is pretty jerky. Don’t imagine it will last long either.

I have had this umbrella a few months now. It is not used all the time so still looks new. Today there was a bit of wind & the umbrella was open . The wind wasn't that bad so I wasn't concerned about the umbrella. Well, I was wrong not to be concerned!!!! I was outside in the yard & when I looked toward the house I see the open umbrella bent over. Sure enough the bottom pole bent just below the connection to the top pole. I am not happy 🙁 I had purchased my previous umbrella about 4 years ago & still have it. Just replaced it with this one as I wanted to change the color. Guess it it back to the old umbrella (which is not this brand).

We bought this after our 3rd (THIRD!!) $250 umbrella broke in half at the tilt point in one season. We live in regular old suburbia surrounded by other houses, fences, or trees so it’s not like it’s the open plains or wind tunnel central. Out of frustration and desperation I bought this based solely on the fact that it doesn’t have a tilt bracket. It had been amazing and waaaaay better than more expensive umbrellas. Great sun coverage and sturdy. Also, it has not broken in half which might seem like the bare minimum requirement, but you’d be surprised. Big fans here, would buy again (but also thrilled we haven’t had to).

Bought on April 13th; it is now May 23. Two complaints:We bought this umbrella to go with our other two umbrellas and expected it to withstand the same level of moderate wind/breezes that the others have endured for years, but this is not the case. Our old market umbrella is also 11 ft. across with the same tiered design. We had all three umbrellas up all last night, and did not even hear any wind. This morning, the brand-new umbrella, that this review is about, was the only one with the broken tilt mechanism. The umbrella was flopped over on the side. All other umbrellas were still standing pretty.Second problem is that the lights did not work even after fully charging. If you care about the lights you could risk getting this, but they might not work.

I recently purchased this umbrella and while it looks great, I was very disappointed by how weak the top joint is that allows the top of the umbrella to bend at an angle. A piece of broke off and now the umbrella just flops to the side all the time. Returned to Amazon.

Love this umbrella and it works great. Color (turquoise/aqua blue) is beautiful. Tilt works great. I have it in a table in the middle of my patio seating area and it shades the whole area. Liked it so much I bought a 9 foot model for over my lounger.My only 2 issues are the switch for the lights is at the end of one of the ribs and as a shorter person (5'6"), I have to lower the umbrella to turn reach it. Also, with this being an 11 foot umbrella, getting to the handle to raise it can be a challenge since the umbrella comes down well past the handle.

Looked great when I first received it. Lights worked and easy crank lift. FIRST TIME I used it, the softest of a breeze and it snapped at the push button tilt mechanism. Ridiculous!! This is common. I had the option of returning to Amazon for full refund OR the manufacturer actually offered to replace the item, pay me $50 for my trouble only if I didn't write a negative review. Why did I return? Because they literally told me that I could keep the broken umbrella "for extra parts!" They knew the replacement would break!! This is a shame. Nice product but horribly made!! And by the way - if the wind gets up to 5mph, the instructions LITERALLY tell you to NOT use the umbrella. So ... basically ... you won't ever be able to use it b/c a sight wind is enough to make this snap!! Mine did!! And it's ridiculous!!

It's a good patio umbrella, but am slightly disappointed with the design and quality. I'd previously purchased a 10' umbrella from a different Amazon vendor, but barely after a month of purchasing it, I'd stupidly left it open one afternoon while at work, and a gust of wind caught it and lifted it up onto my roof and when it blew down, it snapped the main post above the crank. Ok, my fault. Lesson learned.I bought this 11' umbrella, different manufacturer for around twenty dollars less thinking I'd gotten a bargain. And in most aspects I did. However, compared to the previous one, the material of the covering seems, less than. Not as much of a thick canvas feel as the previous one, which doesn't instill a great sense of durability. I guess only time will tell in regards to that.The design however, I find lacking significantly. The switch for BOTH lights is tucked away on the end of one of the umbrella ribs out on the edge of the umbrella. WHY? Why should I have to trace each individual rib of the umbrella each time I want to turn on or off one, or both, of the lights? My previous umbrella only had the small lights along the ribs, but at least the switch was centrallly located just above the crank. Quick to find, Easy to use. Placing the light switch on the edge of the opened umbrella forces you to search for it, not ideal, especially when trying to close up the umbrella at night because of a sudden gusty wind or thunderstorm. Completely idiotic design choice. Plus I can't imagine running the wiring that extra length along the rib to the edge adds to the overall durability of the lighting either. The lights charge from a solar panel that screws onto the outside top of the central post. Wouldn't it make more sense to run the wiring straight down the center, main post to a switch instead of along the narrower, much longer ribs? That alone is a 2 star deduction in my book.If it were just one or the other of these issues I've noted, I could live with it, but not both combined. I'll use it until such time it begins to break down, but honestly, I'll be surprised if it makes it a few months at best. Next time when I'm looking for the next replacement, I won't be rebuying this version.

The only problem was I ordered a dark color. I initially thought it would be cool with the darkness but it actually created more heat underneath and on 90 to 95 degree days it was hot. But that was on me and I call it "live and learn". I sent one to my son who lives 4 hours away and they also love it. My other son loved it too and needed an umbrella so I'm sending him one. The umbrella is fantastic, large enough to cover my table and the lights at night made it great. I would definitely recommend this to all who want one.

Ordered on amazon and looked beautiful but the TILT button was broken and it would not stand up straight once I had the umbrella fully opened. I thought the bottom may have been stuck, I kept trying to fiddle with it but I concluded that it was definitely broken and the umbrella would not stay upright. Returned immediately.

Two weeks in and one light string doesn't work. When extending the umbrella becomes disconnected from the extension rod and must be put back in place to extend properly and if you expect it to protect you from rain, you'll be disappointed.........add another week and lights are not charging even after full sun for at least 8 hours

The 1st one we received, the box was damaged, the umbrella had a couple holes in the wind vent top, it had a dirty area on one side, and the solar lights didn't work. We returned it for an exchange. The return was so simple and the new umbrella was received in a couple days. This time the box was not damaged and the umbrella looked great, but again, the lights didn't work. This time I got out the included directions of what to do in that case. I had to take the umbrella out of the center of the patio table to get the solar top off and, sure enough, it was unplugged, just like the directions said it might be. It was easy to plug in and reattach the solar panel, and the lights worked great! But if that's the 2nd umbrella that came with non-working lights, and if it comes with directions as to what to do in that case, then I have a suggestion for the seller: (1) PLUG IN THE LIGHTS BEFORE SHIPPING, or (2) Change the directions to say to CHECK THE SOLAR LIGHT PLUG BEFORE YOU BOTHER PUTTING THE UMBRELLA TOGETHER AND PUTTING IT UP INTO YOUR PATIO TABLE. Even so, I still give it 5 stars and we are ordering another one for our other patio table. But this time, I'll check the solar light plug BEFORE putting the umbrella up!

Pretty good quality for the price. We'll see how it holds up with time. For those who are too cool for the manual: the switch to turn the lights on and off is on one of the support bars near the end on the side. Red switch. On is when the | icon is depressed. The solar panel at the top can be taken off pretty easily. Sorta turn and pull off the entire top thing. There's a connector dude inside. Make sure it's connected.

The umbrella is sturdy with metal pole and arms. It withstood some breezy wind conditions when we were RVing at the lake. Solar lights are reasonably bright. Overall a good product. On the others side of this I was missing a clear plastic lens on one of the 40 solar lights. The light works but the small lens cover was missing. The seller has been totally unresponsive to my inquiry about a replacement. It's a little thing but I want it right. The light switch is on one of the arms rather than the pole which makes it difficult to find when dark. Lastly the umbrella had no instructions. This would not have been an issue but at first the solar lights, despite hours of charging, would not work. The battery and the solar panels had been disconnected in the top of the umbrella. which required one to remove the cap to reconnect. This may be for purposes of shipping but there should be some notice to that end for those who may not know where to look.UPDATE 6/26/2020: Well last weekend the umbrella met its demise. It was being used at our RV on the lake and a very sudden and strong storm came up with wind gusts likely hitting 40 mph plus and accompanying hail. Just before my wife could get to the umbrella it took flight with the table and landed in the lot about 20 feet away breaking at the joint where the umbrella tilts. This piece seems to be cheap on every umbrella I looked at. Had it not been for this piece the umbrella would have survived intact. The pole and the arms of the umbrella are strong and sturdy which is why I ordered another one as opposed to an umbrella I actually liked a little better but had a thin aluminum pole, BTW my cheap $20 last year end sale umbrella I had survived despite being thrown further. It did not have the tilt mechanism though.

Great shade most of the day. Umbrella is taller and so sun may have more chance to reach under early in the day. Height is an advantage for my husband. Umbrella has protected us from rain, maybe a few drops inside all summer. Frame is sturdy and I’d say well built, but will also say I had some trouble lining up the two sections of the pole. The two screws would not align at same time, one or the other would align. Measuring, they never would have. I made one of the holes longer with a drill, you may need to send back. Instructions weren’t complete nor detailed. A mosquito screen for this umbrella is specially designed, will cost $$$. A tad wobbly, but holds up to winds up to about 25 MPH while open, I close it when winds expected are over 15 MPH as a precaution. Bought the ABBA umbrella base, large and filled with sand, secured cross metal bae to ground with stakes that look like corkscrews. Opening and closing the umbrella is easy and efficient, system is well made. Thick, heavy metal parts with good hardware. Overall very happy with purchase.

I bought this and recurved it on September 17 and paid 163 dollars for it. In less than three weeks lights won’t come on!!!! Really?! Unbelievable!I live in Palm Springs where it us almost always in 90s or 100s degrees. The look is great the size is wonderful but no solar. Do not buy this product and save your time.

After I connected the solar panel connector to the bulbs, it worked fine! It is a beautiful umbrella. I like the double venting in aesthetics and function. The 11 foot diameter wingspan is perfect to keep the sun off the table occupants during the hot part of the day.

Bought on April 13th; it is now May 23. Two complaints:We bought this umbrella to go with our other two umbrellas and expected it to withstand the same level of moderate wind/breezes that the others have endured for years, but this is not the case. Our old market umbrella is also 11 ft. across with the same tiered design. We had all three umbrellas up all last night, and did not even hear any wind. This morning, the brand-new umbrella, that this review is about, was the only one with the broken tilt mechanism. The umbrella was flopped over on the side. All other umbrellas were still standing pretty.Second problem is that the lights did not work even after fully charging. If you care about the lights you could risk getting this, but they might not work.

I had given a 5 stars because I liked the quality of material. However, on second day with a small breeze we noticed that the umbrella was wobbly and leaned towards one side. We double checked the base and everything was just right but kept on swaying. Finally we figured out that the umbrella's post as it fitted into the bottom post connected to the base, the post/tube is not long enough to secure the weight and diameter of umbrella, therefore when there is some wind it plays and is wobbly and it leans to one side with its weight. It's a shame that whosoever designed it didn't consider diameter, and weight of the umbrella. Needless to say is going back.

I've purchased 2 of these, and so far, I'm 1 for 2. The first was purchased last year, and it continues to operate without any issues. However, the 2nd umbrella purchased most recently failed quickly after opening it for the first time. I had it secured within a concrete base and mounted through the center of an outdoor dining table (what I would consider a typical installation). A light breeze caught the umbrella and bent the pole. It wasn't what I would consider a remotely windy day, so it really caught me off-guard.

So far so good. Did notice as another reviewer mentioned, the rigging is just a white cord. Hopefully everything holds up. Don't use the solar feature as much as I thought I would, mainly because there's too many mosquitos at night and they love to suck my blood. The light is not very bright, anyways. If you don't think you'll use the lights, save yourself a couple bucks and buy one without. It's a good size and color. Got the blue one.***UPDATE*** never really used the light last summer. Set up this spring and the solar lights do not work at night at all, despite being in sun all day. They will turn on during the day, but not at night. So, quite useless. If you actually want a lighted umbrella, go with a different one. Otherwise, this one is a good size and nice color.

This is great. I got it to put on my table by the pool. It's easy to use and it is easy to open and set up. It keeps the sun off us when where setting at the table. Its is a nice umbrella and I really like the lights on it. We sit at the pool at night and the umbrella gives up a nice light to sit at the table at night with it. Its durable and sturdy and the price is great for a good made umbrella.

The media could not be loaded. Before my husband went overseas he bought 2 of the large wooden cable spools for us to use as tables. This umbrella is a great size for the table. It is very easy to assemble it. It goes up and down easily and the crank shows which way to turn it for up and then to take down. It can tilt and it has lights. It has been a bit cold here to sit under it at night with the lights on and we can't wait for it to wrm up and use it.

Nice umbrella for it's kind, and for most can cost you up to $1,000, but one thing they all have in common is that none of them come what they refer to as a weight (stand). However for an umbrella this size, it acts as a "sturdy stand", hence given the water filled weight. You can't have any other. As it comes, your required to bolt down two cheap cross bars into your deck or slab, which now you have drilled holes into your foundation and it can't be moved! They're all necessary for this size & type umbrellas. Just another way to show a cheaper price and somewhat hide the needed weight within the description and not flag it out in front. Once you receive the product and realize this "missing necessity", you'll need to shall out another $147. It's known as selective advertising. They certainly now the need for it. Figuratively speaking, pretty soon you'll buy a car and come to find that the engine is additional. Lastly, there's no replacement cover, which also protects the solar panel that faces straight up. The cover will rot away in less than a year, due to one's climant and there's no customer service number provided and/or link. Now you know!

Purchased the water base and 12’ umbrella. Easy assembly - but BUYER BEWARE - Step 3 (Solar Assembly) should be done PRIOR to Step 2 (Umbrella Assembly). The directions call for you to step the umbrella onto the base, and THEN deal with the Solar Panel (which would be at the top of the umbrella, some 8’ off the ground).

I was very excited to get this 12' black umbrella for our deck after reading the reviews and seeing the the beautiful pictures with assorted colors to choose from. I had purchased the large base separately which fits perfectly with the umbrella. Having a solar panel to provide energy for lighting is a great idea and marketing tool but in actuality it DOES NOT WORK THAT WAY. My issues started during the assembly where it says connect the USB wire to the solar panel and feed the wire down through the middle of the top of the umbrella.....which I did. Then I attached the umbrella to the base and opened the umbrella and discovered 2 major issues: 1) The USB wire doesn't even connect to the battery from the solar panel. 2)There was a damaged support bar underneath the umbrella (see pics)I immediately looked for the support page in the assembly and operations guide to find a website with just an email and a separate email. NO PHONE NUMBER. So I emailed my concerns and they replied 2 days later saying that the battery housing needs to be unscrewed from the under structure, plug the USB into that and then plug the other end into a phone charger which then plugs into the wall. That is not what I had in mind for a "solar panel" powered light source. So I emailed again to ask how does the solar panel work??? They replied the next day saying the only way is with the phone charger method. Sent email #3 asking for them to call me on my cell since there was no phone number listed on their website or in the manual so we can discuss all the issues I am having. They called the next day in the afternoon and I could not answer for I was seeing a patient in the middle of a procedure (dentist) so they left a message saying " I am from purple leaf and calling you"...That's it! The number was a out of ordinary number with 13 numbers in the ID. I tried to call them back but could not complete the call. Sent email #4 asking to please call during my lunch hour which is 12-1 and I will definitely answer. They emailed back the next day saying they will call during the designated time and they NEVER did!!!!! I guess it's safe to say that I am using a damaged umbrella that is not solar powered and getting by with it. My message to anyone considering buying one of these umbrellas from purple leaf is that the support is a big fat JOKE and they don't seem to put any effort to stand behind their product and make things right for the consumer.Thanks!!!

As you can see, I love my umbrellas, and this is nicer than my other one because it tilts for better shade coverage. It was even easier to assemble with a solid screw in application that will hold up in any kind of weather. Convenient and long wrap around strap also makes it stay put when it's down for those windy days. Perfect addition to my backyard oasis, where you can't have too much shade in Texas!!

From reading other reviews online, with some people reporting a bad experience, I hesitated to order this. However, I am glad that I decided to order it anyway (most of the reviews are positive), as it seems to be very good quality for its price. It has a nice vent at the top, to help it catch less wind than it otherwise might, but, of course, on a very windy day, it should not be open. The crank for opening and closing the umbrella operates smoothly, and gives a feel of quality. I have not had it long, however, so I cannot say how long it will hold up over time, but it has the look and feel of decent quality, much better than what I would normally expect at the price I paid. It looks very nice on my patio (I bought it in red).If I have problems with it, I plan on updating my review (and possibly changing my rating), but it seems like it is better than one should expect at the price. Of course, I do not expect it to be the best ever made, as that would be ridiculous to have such an expectation for such an inexpensive umbrella, but this, so far, *seems* like it is the best umbrella I have ever owned. Certainly, it is the best looking one.

I've had this outdoor umbrella for almost 4 years now. The first 2 years (summer of 2013 - 2014), I would have given this umbrella 5 stars. It worked great. Easy to open and close and tilt. The 3rd year (2015) I started having problems opening and closing the umbrella (the tilt still worked fine). I had to now assist the opening and closing by using one hand to crank and the other to get it started by pushing up or pulling down on where the umbrella slides up/down the shaft. And the 4th year (2016), it requires that I not only help start it, but I must push the area that slides manually up and down while cranking it the whole time, otherwise it won't move and feels like the rope will snap or something will break if I don't help it along. It's difficult to do this and it no longer opens/closes just by using the crank.This is not a cheap umbrella, for it to only last 2 years is horrible. I don't want to purchase a new umbrella every 2 years. I would suggest you look for another umbrella.

The pockets at the ends of the umbrella ribs are not made properly. The ribs slip out of the pockets when the umbrella is down. If yours has the same problem, you will need to raise the umbrella halfway, insert 3 or 4 ribs into the pockets before raising all the way. Its a pain.

We had a lesser quality umbrella previously, so I was thrilled when this one arrived. I'm terrible at paying attention to size (I know, it's listed, I should get out measuring tape!) and this was bigger than I expected...but it turned out to be perfect. I love the squared off shape. It has such a classy look. The 2 extra features that I'm excited about is the tilt option which is very needed during certain times of the day and the crank. I found that I had to stand on a chair to open the old umbrella, this ones easy to put up and down. Also, the quality is fantastic!

If you're hesitant to purchase because of the price, but yet you're torn because you need a good, quality umbrella...just get it. I went round and round before purchasing, but I'm so happy we made the investment.There's a previous review that talks about tips when putting the umbrella together...read it for sure. The installation insructions are very minimal, so we missed the part about installing the LED part first. We ended up just using a ladder to attach it. You also want to make sure you remove ALL the protective packaging on the interior of the fabric or else you won't be able to fully open the umbrella.We had zero lighting on our deck and so the LED light feature is AMAZING. Update: looks brand new after removing the cover from its winter sleep. The square version is so elegant.I under estimated the size of this umbrella. It’s huge and I am very glad I bought the purple leaf stand that goes with it, perfect fit. I’m glad I measured my patio which is 10 feet wide. Be sure you have plenty of room to swing it around and open and close it. I have to swing it around to close it because of my patio furniture. This is no problem because it rotates very easily around my patio. I have utilize the cantilever to shade my garden during the hot summer heat wave.

When this arrived, the tent/canvas had some holes. We went through the return process with Amazon and they were very helpful and responsive. Before we actually returned it, my husband decided to contact Purple Leaf. They were SO helpful. We sent pictures and order information and they sent a new tent/canvas without any question. I would highly recommend this umbrella - we have thoroughly enjoyed it and hope to continue for a long time. It's easy to use and very effective. And it looks very nice on our patio. I also recommend because both Amazon and Purple Leaf were GREAT to work with us when there was a problem.

The original one broke the week we got the new one. The new one was delivered missing most of the parts needed to install it. When you deal with customer service you’re emailing with someone who doesn’t speak English fluently. They have not been able to understand our issues after MULTIPLE emails. They shipped us the new parts and included the parts we received the first time, not the parts we are missing. The original umbrella we got, that is broken, has a 1 year warranty, but I doubt they will be able to understand what happened and we will just be out $500. Go with a different company if you are looking for an umbrella. This has not been worth the hassle.

Update - I first wrote about breakage in the wind. Purple Leaf reached out and replaced the broken part of the system. So thank you for the great service... Went from 3 started to 4.First thing to point out - I have loved the two umbrellas I bought for a few months now. They are very reasonable in price and they look really good. However, last night, in 12mph winds, the main support beam broke right off. The attachment sleeve to the base stand and to be the weak spot. It is not repairable. Unless they'll replace it as a defect I'll have to buy another because I have two that are face to face on a large patio. I'll keep you posted. In the meantime, if it feels like wind is coming take them down.

We have a deck with full southern exposure and it gets hot! We debated putting up a sun sail but want to have something we can take down easily at night. We have two smaller umbrellas but even at full tilt they couldn't do half the job this thing does. The tilt makes all the difference, especially for late afternoon sun. It is also the optimum size to shade our seating area. Only drawback is the size of the base. We have ours off the deck. The footprint is quite large.

I was shocked that our brand new (11 ft. sunny glade offset)umbrella broke with a breeze of approximately 10mph on July 3rd. We installed it exactly as it should be fastened -directly to our wood deck. Galvanized 2.5" decking screws into 2x6 floor joists. We had it in the fully tilted position (to block the late afternoon sun) when it broke. The metal base buckled and bent sending our umbrella to the ground. Our screws stayed of course but the metal ripped away. It's cheap metal. Terribly disappointing. I wanted to email the manufacturer but amazon didn't know their info. I threw the box and broken 'X' shape base away so I couldn't return it. We made a wooden base for 4th of July cookout. Idk how long that will last but it's sturdier than the base it came with. The rest of the Umbrella is better than any I've had. Super easy to open and close. Shame it's got such a thin metal base making it dangerous in my opinion. It's huge and heavy and should have a very strong base.

The box came slightly damaged and we ended up losing a few of the washers as a result. Luckily, there was no damage to the frame or the fabric. It was super easy to put together. Instead of spending over $100 on the weights for the base, I went to home depot and bought four 12"x12"×2.5" pavers that weighed about 26lbs each and cost a total of $12. I had to chip away one of the corners on each one to make sure it fit snug into the nook of the base, which took about half an hour (so that I didnt mess up and crack it in half or something weird) and it was totally worth it. We have already had crazy storms and high gusts of wind, and no issues with the umbrella getting damaged or tipping.

I purchased from seller "Orgrimmar Bags". I was excited to put it together and the quality of the umbrella and stand looked good. When opening the box, i noticed it was a bit damaged and when open the "parts" box I noticed that all the bolts and washers were out of the bag they were supposed to be in. I noticed bolt marks on the base of the umbrella when I began to put it together. On Step 2 of the directions I realized it was missing an important mounting bracket that mounts the umbrella pole to the stand. No way to put it togeher without that! This was obviously a previous purchased item that was returned and hastily repacked by the seller, pretty dissapointed. I'm on the phone with Amazon right now to see how they will fix it. Amazon's solution is to have me repack it and they will have UPS pick up, once the recieve the will refund my card. I then have to order a new umbrella like I never ordered this one. I was hoping Amazon would step in here and prioritize a shipment of a new umbrella so pretty dissapointed in Amazon as well.
