Not happy at all with this umbrella it leans to one side im a show Carpenter so I know how to fix things this is internal inside the crankcase not my type of product. Contacted seller told me to send pics never gave me info where to send them . Don't purchase!! They want pictures of how lopsided it is why don't you do this at the factory

All you need to do when you get this umbrella is put the poles together. We have it in a water filled base because we are going table-less this summer. We don't leave it up- I think that would be asking for trouble, but it seems pretty stable without the additional support of a table to surround it. It is just the perfect size for our small patio and looks really nice when it is open. I think that we will get good use out of it.

This rating is based on the way the color faded on this umbrella. This was purchased for a second home on Cope Cod in Massachusetts. It was purchased in mid June 2016 and received late June so in effect we started using it then. Because we rent the home I'm not sure it was up all the time during the rental season but for the purposes of the review I'll assume that it was. This means it was open for two months. After the rental season the house was used only by family members for weekends at a time. We always ensure that it is down when we leave so we don't have wind damage issues. The umbrella was put away (in the garage) in November for the season. Essentially it was open in use for three months at most. We bought the red one and it is extremely faded. It looks like it could be years older than it is. It looks terrible. If you are going to buy this product make sure you pick a color that wouldn't look bad it if fades. I can't wait to see what it will look like at the end of this season. I have attached a photo of what it looks like now.

Very large but is cheaply made. One of the supporting arms broke the first time we used. Right where a knot is making it a week spot. Seller will not replace part or umbrella because its beyond 30 days. We did not use it right when we got it. Defective cheap product with bad customer service to back it. stay away don't buy this. you get what you pay for.

This umbrella just arrived. Well built fabric much heavier than I expected and looks great. This replaces a 2 year old California Umbrella 11-Feet diameter with Sunbrella Fabric. The tilt mechanism on that umbrella is a weak link. This one has no tilt. The sunbrella fabric stood up ok, but not as well as I expected. The new umbrella costs 40% of what the older California umbrella costs and I am quite sure it will last a few years. If I have problems I will add a post to advise but the pole is solid and the connection is solid unlike California umbrella with the aluminum pole and the sloppy swivel that moves back and forth in the wind.

So I’m getting a hot tub and we needed an umbrella. While waiting on the tub (Covid is slowing the world down to a crawl) I researched lots of umbrellas. I waited for prime day and pulled the trigger on this one. Took a few weeks to arrive. Mine arrived in perfect shape with all parts and the poorly executed manual. With that being said I’m pretty mechanical and I had it up in no time by myself. I’m 6’4” 225lb. If you are small or weak I’d get help this thing is tall heavy and awkward to put together. Initially I was very impressed by the heft and thickness of the metal parts seems like it should hold up! Most negative reviews I read are from ppl whose units were damaged in shipping or they improperly mounted them. It needs to be weighted down not screwed down (I’m sure it could prob be screwed down if done properly but...) I didn’t want to spend $80 on the sunnyglade 176lb plastic base since it had some poor reviews that said it busted and filling with sand is more money and it’s a pain. Instead I bought four 20”x20”x2” 65lb each square pavers from a box store at $6.28 apiece for a total of 260lbs of weight. As overkill I also got four 16”x16”x2” 38lb each decorative red cobblestone pavers to go on top at $4.98 each for a total of 152 additional lbs. So really the 4 big blocks would have been fine but all 8 were still less than $50 including tax and it would take a hurricane to budge the 412lb of total weight.Chose this style because it is very simple to operate. Wanted my wife to have no problems using it without help. 360° Rotation and tilt are easy and so needed.Also the color was true to the picture and it’s very brilliant. Grabbed a cheap set of umbrella lights to go underneath, can’t wait to use the umbrella with our hot tub. (getting cold now tho in Michigan 😎)

After waiting 4 weeks for the umbrella to arrive, I was so excited to put it up! And now, just a few hours later, I couldn't be more sad. I live in a rainy climate and needed the umbrella to protect my patio furniture from rain as well as sun. Big fail! The water is streaming down the inside of the umbrella. It's coming through the seams and even just straight through the fabric. Nothing about this umbrella is waterproof as it was advertised.

HUGE patio umbrella if you need to cover a big area. Built super strong. Was going to buy a Sunsetter for $3000 because of the area we needed to shade but found this instead for less than 1/10th the cost. Looks great. 20% cooler. Love it.

I had an oblong outside bar area to cover, and this umbrella fit the space perfectly. It was easy to set up, and I secured one end to a pillar to keep it from rotating. The beige color is nondescript - something more colorful might have been fun, but no other option quite worked. The material is relatively thin, we'll see how it holds up in the Texas sun.

This is a great umbrella. Ours broke and we were left to ordering one online which we normally would not do. This one is perfect for our rectangle table that seats 6. We're in Chicago and get plenty of windy days and this umbrella holds up beautifully. The triple vent design is very helpful for this! Our only complaint is that there is no attached strap to wrap around it when it's closed. Other than that it's perfect and the price is fantastic considering the high quality and design.

Comment has been edited from 3 stars to one star AFTER dealing with Purple Leaf customer service. We ordered one of these umbrellas 9/2019 and one in 4/2020. The original one broke the week we got the new one. The new one was delivered missing most of the parts needed to install it. When you deal with customer service you’re emailing with someone who doesn’t speak English fluently. They have not been able to understand our issues after MULTIPLE emails. They shipped us the new parts and included the parts we received the first time, not the parts we are missing. The original umbrella we got, that is broken, has a 1 year warranty, but I doubt they will be able to understand what happened and we will just be out $500. Go with a different company if you are looking for an umbrella. This has not been worth the hassle.

Update - I first wrote about breakage in the wind. Purple Leaf reached out and replaced the broken part of the system. So thank you for the great service... Went from 3 started to 4.First thing to point out - I have loved the two umbrellas I bought for a few months now. They are very reasonable in price and they look really good. However, last night, in 12mph winds, the main support beam broke right off. The attachment sleeve to the base stand and to be the weak spot. It is not repairable. Unless they'll replace it as a defect I'll have to buy another because I have two that are face to face on a large patio. I'll keep you posted. In the meantime, if it feels like wind is coming take them down.

We have a deck with full southern exposure and it gets hot! We debated putting up a sun sail but want to have something we can take down easily at night. We have two smaller umbrellas but even at full tilt they couldn't do half the job this thing does. The tilt makes all the difference, especially for late afternoon sun. It is also the optimum size to shade our seating area. Only drawback is the size of the base. We have ours off the deck. The footprint is quite large.

Its true to size. The arms seem a little flimsy, we are on the waterfront, so we will see how it holds up in the wind coming off the water.

This umbrella is a hazard, Unlike the 15 foot version It does not have air release openings on top which will trap the the air underneath from big wind gusts and will make the umbrella fly away then be a huge dangerous projectile. How people are ignorant enough to give this positive reviews and avoid that reality is beyond me. Obviously there should have been a disclaimer by the seller to close this umbrella when not used Instead of deceiving buyers that it’s sturdy. Oh by the way don’t trust this seller they don’t process returns easy

I purchased this umbrella is October 2019 and have really loved it. However, Florida weather has taken a toll on the fabric. It’s still hanging on but will probably need to be replaced after this summer. I contacted the seller and unfortunately, they do not offer canopy replacements.

Loved it for three weeks... had it up on HOT sunny days, excellent shade, easy to rotate and change tilt.Today weather shows 6 mph gusts... maybe it got up to 8 mph?whatever; the umbrella flipped over tearing out two seams and ripping a hole where it hit a roof flashing! It is so heavy i had to hire help to set it up, and called helper back today to help pick it up off deck floor.I verified that the Purple Leaf enormous base was still topped off with water; the gusts are still nothing more than a breeze. I am heart sick at spending $600- using it for less than a month and only on occasions that I was home with little to no wind.The base the umbrella comes with: either bolt it down to the floor or toss it out.Fill the Purple leaf with sand? yes heavier... the hole is small... and in future you want to empty it? how? small hole... heavy... is sand heavy enough? or does it really need to be bolted to floor?ANOTHER THING: the delivered package was missing parts... washers and bolts/screws -Reported to the seller but never heard back... finally did it myself: it took many trips to hardware store to find proper bolts to fix it to the base...I feel devastated... this was going to be a great solution to hot sun beaming into sliding glass doors and it was super wonderful for the few times I used it successfully.

I read all the other reviews and spent a good amount of time researching before buying. I chose this umbrella because a guy had a really nice video showing how easy it was to set up and the heavy duty quality of the construction. I live at the beach and it gets very windy. I also chose because it has the rotating 365 degree option. Out of the box everything looked great and set up was very easy! I bought the purple leaf base you definitely need a base whether you are in a windy place or not. The umbrella has a very nice tiered canopy that lets air flow and it can be titled up to 90 degrees to act like a sun screen when the sun is really low. Fabric is good and the steel frame and the steel umbrella construction is top notch. Make sure you remove all the protective pads and tape under inside the umbrella before trying to crank all the way open. While sturdy, its so big we cannot use in strong winds. A very nice cover comes with the umbrella with a rod that helps you reach high up to put it on and it covers the steel support and umbrella. Again...buy the base ($70) that matches the umbrella you definitely need it.

At first I was hesitant on spending such a large amount of money on an outdoor umbrella. I have owned a few and normally throw them away after a year or two. This umbrella is a complete game changer, and I love it. It has two handles that help you move the umbrella into almost any direction to block the sun. My backyard faces South, so the sun sits ontop of me almost all day. I was able to sit on my patio all day and only adjusted the umbrella 3 times. Since I live by the water, I do have a fair amount of wind come through and the umbrella holds up rather nicely. I did spend the extra money and bought the holder that came with the umbrella and suggest that you do also. The holder helps the umbrella move from left to right when needed

6/13/20: My wife and I just set up our new umbrella only to notice a section of stitching is missing. To be clear, this umbrella is brand new. Amazon customer service through chat offered me a $25 credit. Do they really think a $25 refund on a $489 umbrella will fix this? I imagine the hole will only grow larger as I use the umbrella and it's exposed to wind. The is completely unacceptable for such an expensive umbrella. Stay away from Purple Leaf.If Purple Leaf customer service comes through, I'll update this review. As of now, this umbrella is not worth the money. Given the seller rating for Purple Leaf, I do not have high expectations.

I love this umbrella. I purchased it in the color: cream. Is is gorgeous and looks just like the photos. You will need to purchase the additional base and a word to the wise- wait to assemble to the additional base. I spent time putting this together only to have to take the bottom cross bars off and re-attach to the base that was sold separately. I filled the additionally purchased base with water and not sand- it took approximately 22 gallons. Just a heads up, the umbrella comes with a cover as well, which I wasn’t aware of until it arrived. Very sturdy, very beautiful and well worth the investment.

Ordered 2 of these 11' umbrellas and they are absolutely top-notch quality and beautiful. This is our 3rd set of umbrellas over many years (the other 2 sets were from a big box store and Home Depot-each @ $300-$400). The small price difference is inconsequential given the quality difference we're experiencing. Don't waste the ~$100 difference to buy elsewhere, buy this quality umbrella. From experience, you'll be very happy you spend the extra money. And it comes with a really cool, functional, easy-to-use umbrella cover!Of note, online there are many questions about installation, and most point to buying the extra base for the umbrella. We didn't originally purchase the base for either because we wanted to see what it was all about. Once we did, we installed into our existing concrete patio with great results, and per husband, it was not a big deal (see pics). The install to the patio looks amazing, and takes so much less of a footprint without what we've dealt with over the years with the normal base.We did experience deliver delays and damage to one part on one umbrella, but I will be contacting the seller regarding that so they are aware.

The media could not be loaded. This is definitely the deluxe version of cantilever umbrellas. I’ve owned a few and this one has to be my overall favorite of them all. The mechanics and parts are made better are high quality and meant to last. It’s true you get what you pay for and with this umbrella your paying for high quality. Even the top vented to allow air flow and less likely to tip or become unbalanced. This umbrella is 10 feet wide and extremely big covering a huge area in the shade . It’s keeps the uv rays off of my deck and really allows for relaxing comfort with 100 percent UV protection.The wide coverage area makes it easier to entertain guests and keep them comfortable. The fabric is also very water repellant. The mechanics of this umbrella with the crank and tilt are very nice and very high quality easy to crank up and down and lock into place . Even my 12 year old was able to do this on his own. It also comes with a nice umbrella cover to keep it clean and protected when not in use. We did purchase a base separate that holds it down and keeps it stable . Great buy.

I like the shade it gives to my Florida patio. It was easy to assemble and was up in less than 30 minutes. You do need weight on the base! I am concerned about all of the threads at the seams. I wrote to the company (email address was on the booklet), I have not heard back from them. Hopefully the seams hold.Update! The company contacted me and offers to send a new canopy!

This 12ft offset cantilever umbrella is easy to install and simple to operate. It has a tough center pole and umbrella branches. The canvas cover seems durable. You will need a quite heavy umbrella base for this application.

Flimsy material. The umbrella arrived in a badly damaged box, I could see part of it through the tears in the box. When I unpacked I noticed a good size tear on one side, plus a big one at the top.The seller responded to the return request about 48 hours after sending it. 3 days later I got a return label via email. It's going back via USPS, which is weird because it was shipped by UPS. Not worth the money. Not well made.

this is a top notch umbrella. easy ot open and close. stays outsitde and doestn get ruined by any wind or rain.with a heavy base there is nothign to worry about with this item. and of course its large wingspan offers plenty of shade.

The media could not be loaded. Assembly was really a cinch, very little hardware to deal with and the most important parts essentially slide together. When installing the fabric corner extensions its easier to do with the umbrella base already anchored down. You will also want the umbrella barely open so you can access the bars and the pockets that the extensions slip into without.The entire umbrella system is very easy to adjust, slide up, slide down, rotate, and open/close. But when you purchase this keep in mind that this should not be open in any kind of wind, you can see in my video we're having very common summer breezes here in Florida and this umbrella is being banged around and twisting all over. I only trust opening this during very calm days with almost no breeze, if you need something more useful during regular daytime breezes you're probably better off looking into a good 4 post canopy such as this ( https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B09P19B6Y4 ) but you won't have the same aesthetic as this cantilever umbrella offers. All in all I love the umbrella, but it carries a big caveat.

I am very happy to be using the Tangkula 10x13ft Patio Rectangular Umbrella to provide far more shade over our deck than our previous umbrella.The umbrella arrived in great condition, which is a bit unusual for such a large item. There was only the small issue of not having a user manual enclosed in the box. After contacting the company directly, not only did they send us a PDF of instructions, but they placed a link directly on the Amazon page with the user manual. As it turns out, it is very easy to put together with 2 people even without the directions. We were able to have it all together in under 20 minutes, but it was nice to confirm that we did everything correctly once we had the guide.The umbrella is easy to use and to adjust the tilt to get the maximum coverage over a table, lounge chair, etc. The 360 degree rotation is also very convenient, and the unit is quite sturdy in any orientation with the proper base placed on the legs of the umbrella. The fabric seems thick and strong, and I’m very happy with the quality of the design of and materials used in this product. I expect that it will last much longer than our previous umbrella and look forward to years of using it.
