I have a huge umbrella stand in my backyard. I have it because I love to have it over the side of my pool. It’s so nice for shade, but when I was trying to get an umbrella for the pool, I decided to go with black solar lights instead. It’s been doing wonders for our yard and I didn’t need any fence work or anything.

Received this umbrella and loved it, but like many others, our solar lights did not work. In spite of this, we loved the color and size so we ordered a 2nd umbrella to store. When the 2nd one was delivered there were instructions included, which were omitted from the 1st. The Instructions say to unscrew the solar panel on the top of the umbrella and insert the battery connector, which is just a plug, and replace the solar panel. Now the lights work. Hope this info is helpful.

I purchased the tan 10ft round umbrella over the summer, it had been holding up rather well, until I forget to close it during a recent thunderstorm. The wind picked it up about 2ft and then dropped it back down. When this happened, 3 of the clear caps fell off the lights and they stopped working. I emailed the company and asked if I could get a couple new caps, just to check if that was why it stopped working, but I didn’t expect anything because of all the reviews complaining about the company’s radio silence. I figured I’d give them a week to get back to me, then just use my old solar umbrella lights on it because the umbrella itself didn’t get hurt. I emailed on a Saturday afternoon, and Tuesday afternoon the UPS man is standing on my porch holding my replacement umbrella! I dug through my emails and found their response about wanting to make their customers happy, and that they were sorry for my inconvenience and wanted to make it right by sending me a new umbrella. Now I have 2 umbrellas, but I’ve contacted the local senior home, and I’m going to wire my spare solar lights onto the umbrella and donate it with some spare solar path lights placed into some tiki torches to their outdoor garden area.

Pay attention to the 1 star reviews, I wish I had. Almost all say the same thing that the joint that allows it to tilt to the side, breaks. I didn’t even open mine fully or try to tilt it before it completely broke under just the weight of the umbrella. Totally light weight plastic, worthless for a joint.Update: dealing with customer service has been a joke. Dropped off at a fedex with the preprinted label and waited 2 business weeks and heard nothing. Took two emails to get my refund after I got confirmation myself from fedex that it had a arrived and been signed for.

I wish I could give this product 4.5 stars (or even 5 stars if it would get as much attention for the slight detractors it has) because it really is a great product and great value for the price.The 7.5' umbrella is a great size on our smaller size patio and the green color is lovely and feels true to what we saw in the pictures. The angle feature works easily and feels sturdy as it latches into place when straight upright or tilted in either direction. We haven't had much wind in our area since having it so I don't know about how well it stands up to that yet.We're very picky about the tone of light in our home (prefer warm light to white light) and were concerned about the LED lights being too blue, but they turned out to be perfect. They illuminate everything in a soft and even blue glow that feels more like moon or starlight than your typical bright and harsh LED blue light. Pictures attached for brightness reference.The crank function to open and close the umbrella works well but is the only reason I did detract 1 star. When opening the umbrella, the rope which moves the umbrella support catches slightly on the button which tilts the umbrella. Only a slight annoyance and easily fixed once we figured it out. When closing the umbrella though, the rope seems to have been coiling back on itself (inside of the umbrella shaft) if we don't help to move the support down by hand as we continue to crank the umbrella down. Again, only a slight annoyance once we figured it out but it stands worth mentioning for anyone shopping for a new umbrella (and hopefully save some confusion and having to figure it out on your own for anyone who does choose this umbrella). It would also be nice if it came with a cover for storage, but I'm sure we can find something that will fit/work for it.I would definitely recommend this product and would buy it again!

I couldn’t be more pleased with this umbrella. I assembled it with three clicks, and now my humble urban balcony is a delightful tiki jungle resort. The umbrella is incredibly sturdy (I didn’t buy a stand for it, btw; I just stuck it through the hole in my patio table into a planter pot) and looks just as good as, if not better than, umbrellas folks pay hundreds for. The color (I got the burgundy) is bold and true to the photo. And the solar lights are long-lasting and impressively bright. Super easy and sturdy crank. Durable velcro closure with just one wrap-around. And the stand TILTS!Props, also, to the reviewer here who noted that the solar mechanism is packed in the bottom of the box. That probably saved me a good 10 minutes of puzzling.Absolutely 1000000% recommend this product. It’s not just good for the price—it’s worth every penny I paid and more.

The umbrella is nice. The lights are actually pretty bright. However, the pole that it comes with is extremely cheap! The smallest gust of wind bent the pole and snapped it in half. I tried contacting the company and no response. Be cautious on the absolutely cheap material the pole is made of. Horrible communication from the company!

Year old update: This product arrives and sets up very easily! It seemingly is a great quality and looks beautiful! HOWEVER, the lights would not consistently work within the first month. In working w customer service they provided a new solar battery and this did not repair the issue. The solar battery would store during the day and work while sun was out (when you don’t need lights) but not at all in the evening. After working with customer service multiple times they were suggesting that I do some thing on my end that just never worked. I gave up working with the company and just used it without the lights. Last month, without any winds happening and with the umbrella down, the umbrella snapped on the bend in the adjustable pole...Metal pieces came apart. No storm, no wind, and it just snapped. This umbrella is beautiful and seemingly high-quality. However, it just has been a problem for me from the start. In replacing the umbrella, I would not choose this company. Maybe it is a fluke thing but they did not replace the umbrella and make it right from the start.

I chose this one due to the negative reviews of all other companies. It’s been pretty windy with a lot of rain and I put it down for that for precaution , but happy so far. Denver sun bleaches everything instantly so we scotchguarded and bought the covers since the main selling point was that black matches the trim on our newly painted house. No fading so far and no weird damage like some mentioned. This company was great to do business with. My only gripe is that the stick to hold stability is about eight feet hight and so is the double light switch. It’s not dark yet, so you can’t tell, but the lights are just the right bright and nice you can use one or both. I’ve never seen a black solid market umbrella before. My house is white with black trim, solid black roof, and red brick. It looks très chic with the umbrellas. Just turn the lights on before you raise it unless you’re hiring a basketball player. Also, I had to plug the solar panel in on top-took two seconds, but I would have thought the lights didn’t work. The switch goes to “0” for lights and l to charge. I think my husband manually turns it off in the morning. I love my umbrellas!! So, I bought these in late May or early June. We had a lot of rain during that time so they weren’t installed until about mid-June. So many people complain about the color fading and I was worried about that as well. So here’s the update on September 17th: color is just as vivid black as when I first installed them. We sit in loungers under the lit umbrellas almost every night while the dogs get their before bed romp, and I’m struck every time by how beautiful there

The color is beautiful just like the pictures. The umbrella is perfect just what we wanted. Love the lights at night just enough lights but not too bright that it brings bugs. A little top heavy even with a weighted bag and 100 pounds of sand. We are going to have to get some more weight. We loved this umbrella in fact got so many compliments on it from friends and just ppl walking by our house. It was everything we wanted. We used about 5 to 6 times than snap. The part that keeps it from coming down to fast snapped. Now my kids are afraid to use it. Plus when is snapped my daughter was taking it down and it snapped on her wrist. I was afraid for awhile that she broke it. (the Wrist) I hate that our beautiful umbrella that we loved so much can now only be used by my husband. Looking at other reviews it will be impossible to get a replacement part . The funny thing is I was sitting down today to give it a 5 star rating and talk about how it is perfect. If it had happened a few hours later that is the review you would have seen. Unfortunately it broke before that. If you want a beautiful umbrella but know it will probably break on you this is the perfect umbrella.

Wish I could give a zero! Solar panel lights up in daylight and by night leds are dead crank handle is cheap plastic and the last draw after 6 days pulley snapped and now umbrella won’t open up! Best Chinese products are past the 48 hour window, and I will be contacting my bank to dispute and I will not pay to ship this piece of junk back, and I refuse to let it go. Save yourself a headache and don’t buy!! It flips and wobbles all over the place and is not worth the headache! I want my money back as this is a true lemon of a product.

The plastic retainer which is supposed to hold the lever arm to raise or lower the umbrella broke immediately upon first use when I attempted to lower the umbrella. The retainer should be made of metal, to ensure that the retainer can sustain the weight of the umbrella.

I just put up this umbrella on my backyard deck this evening. The solar circle that goes on top of the umbrella easily snaps in place. The lights under the umbrella are pretty. I bought this umbrella to tilt into the westward sun late in the day. By the time I had installed it I could see if it was blocking the sun properly and it was. It is a nice large umbrella and the crank handle easily opens up the canopy. However the umbrella does twist a little bit in the wind given the size of the canopy. There is a gentle breeze blowing this evening with some gusts but not too bad. I wish the upper mechanism that holds the canopy in place didn’t spin in the wind. As it is it might be OK. I will update my review in the next day or two once I’ve had a chance to use the umbrella for a few days.Edit: I had to mount the back of the mounting bracket directly to a 4 x 4 upright on my deck because the spindle was too narrow and flexible and I was afraid it might break. When I unscrewed the wing nuts from the bolt I noticed rust. I was hoping the bolts would have been galvanized.I also noticed that when there is more than a slight breeze that the top canopy of this umbrella swivels somewhat. So far it hasn’t broken but it does swivel around the centerpoint by more than a few degrees in each direction. I appreciate that this umbrella is very lightweight so it makes tilting the umbrella up and down very easy.Edit 8-20-19 We had a few heavy gusts of wind blow through recently and I was not home to put the umbrella down. These were not storm level wins but more around 12 to 15 mph with gusts slightly higher. One of the supporting ribs detached from the umbrella center point. When the umbrella is fully open it looks like that rib is bent. I have to see if it’s easy to re-insert. If you live near a windy area I would suggest an alternative to this umbrella. Otherwise it’s been working fine and providing a nice shady spot.Edit: June 2020. The umbrella has been out for almost 2 months for the second summer now. The umbrella fabric now has several holes in it. It looks like it has failed in the direct sun.

This is high quality construction and easy to use. The pole is made of a strong metal but THE POLE is just tiny bit TOO BIG for 1.5" holders that are not adjustable and/or made for 1.5" or smaller poles. Easy-to-use would seem redundant but I've examined other market umbrellas and some are oddly difficult to open, tilt and or/lock into the open position and the AOK market umbrella does each of these as easily as one would expect. Early reviewer status means that I rec'd a $3 credit AFTER I'd reviewed this. I HOPE YOU FOUND THIS HELPFUL!

Very disappointed in the quality. We had an umbrella for our patio furniture that was 5 yrs old and we only replaced it because the material looked so worn. We thought we’d try out a different shape (rectangle instead of round) and thought this was a good choice. We bought March 2020 but due to COVID we didn’t put it up since we weren’t having company. Finally put it out about 2 weeks ago and it already broke. And not just broke, the pole just bent over completely and the metal pieces broke off. Unfortunately since we bought it last year it isn’t under and warranty or anything. Don’t waste your money

In fairness, it was a big wind storm that finally snapped an arm. For the last two years this has been a great umbrella. It is top heavy enough that you need a weight at the base and a table to keep it upright in even a breeze of middling strength. Even after the hard fall the lights still work (except the one right where the arm snapped). The lights have always provided plenty of light to dine by and we have really enjoyed the umbrella. If it hadn't broken we'd still be using it. As it is, I am typing this review sitting under it (with a lopsided cast due to the broken arm). It was stored in my workshop over both Winters and only saw use Spring through Fall which I believe extended the life of the fabric cover. This year, some small holes are appearing but they could be fall-related. For the price, this umbrella was a great value and I have no doubt would have made it through another outdoor dining season if not for the fall.

I purchased several of these led umbrellas by Trademark Innovations in 2015 (new pool installed) and recently replaced a couple that were damaged when I neglected to put them down before a storm. The quality of the newer ones is better (heavier materials) than the ones I first purchased in 2015.I managed to find most via Warehouse Deals (and refurbished this year - like new) and haven't spent more than ~60.00 on the 6.5 x 10 versions - I have 2 of those and 3 of the 9' round ones. If there's ever anything wrong (one was missing the solar panel which was shipped and arrived two days later at no charge) their customer service is outstanding...you don't find that much anymore.I had put one of the big ones up in a small bistro table that had an umbrella hole in it, and it blew over (didn't have a heavy enough base at the time) and seriously scraped up the bottom of the pole. I called to see if I could purchase the bottom pole separately, and they shipped one for no charge. Seriously, their customer service is awesome.When one quit lighting up I emailed about it and they told me that the batteries might need to be replaced. I felt silly that I didn't pay attention to the fact that they had batteries in addition to being little solar panels. You can use regular AA's - rechargeable solar batteries aren't necessary.My only complaint is that the canopies fade pretty quickly, but I leave them up most of the time and they get full Florida sun for most of the day, so I think that's inevitable. I did try some UV protective spray one year, made for boat tops, but it didn't seem to help. I've just end up getting new tops every year or so.I do recommend, especially for the 6.5 x 10 umbrellas, to get a very heavy base/stand. I went with decorative for the first ones that only weighed about 20 lbs and that was a mistake - ended up going with 55 lb concrete bases and haven't had any issues with those.

I purchased this item in Mar 2019 and used it in my home in southern California through the spring, summer and fall of 2020, and put it away for the winter. When there were heavy winds, I would always drop the shade to protect it. After 1 year the cloth is faded and torn, and just today - April 5, 2020, when I was sitting at the table, one of the arms broke away from it's pivot point. The connection at the crank is not very secure and even in light breeze the pole creaks and is not as stable and it should be. For $100 ($99.95) that I paid, the value is not what I'd hoped. Even at today's special price of $85-$89 it is not a good value. I wasn't necessarily looking for a 5 year product (there are brands for ~$250 with a 5 year warranty) but 2 would have been nice.

Excellent quality all around. So sturdy. Lights are great. Zero issues. there's nothing hard about setting it up - you just have to connect the plug at the end of the wires into the solar panel. My 7-year-old could easily do it. Just look at the top of the umbrella and connect it.There are umbrellas that are less expensive, but I knew I made the right decision as soon as this came out of the box. It screams sturdiness and high quality. My handyman (who was doing other work on my deck) just kept saying "wow" as I put this up. He's certainly seen many patio umbrellas in his life.This is a very different kind of patio umbrella than the cheap ones. I'd believe it cost three times as much. It's nicer than the ones in the outdoor seating sections at some of the restaurants we go to.You won't regret it.(I use this with shademobile's rolling umbrella base. Nice combination!)

We love this solar umbrella for our back patio! It allows us to utilize our table in the back yard. Prior to this purchase, we were unable to make good use of our back yard kitchen area. It now get a lot of use! And we have received many comments from guests about how the lighting is perfect - not too bright but bright enough to eat, drink, and have conversation. We would definitely purchase all over again!

It does what it is suppose to do. The LED lights are a nice feature. We purchased three of these to replace ones that we purchased at Costco. My wife wanted the LED lights. The sunbrella fabric is not as thick. The pipe is not as thick. This biggest issue is when the umbrella is down the handle is not exposed. It is under the umbrella. You have to reach under it and crank it a few times before you have easier access to the handle. On the last one we purchased the hand crank is extremely hard to turn when lowering the umbrella. There are end pieces are located in the middle braces and arms that protect the metal from tearing the fabric. Several of them have fallen off and we have lost a few. We apply gorilla glue when reinserting the end pieces. I attached a picture of the piece that is falling off. The hand crank that is hard to turn. The hand crank which is under the umbrella.

If you're hesitant to purchase because of the price, but yet you're torn because you need a good, quality umbrella...just get it. I went round and round before purchasing, but I'm so happy we made the investment.There's a previous review that talks about tips when putting the umbrella together...read it for sure. The installation insructions are very minimal, so we missed the part about installing the LED part first. We ended up just using a ladder to attach it. You also want to make sure you remove ALL the protective packaging on the interior of the fabric or else you won't be able to fully open the umbrella.We had zero lighting on our deck and so the LED light feature is AMAZING. Update: looks brand new after removing the cover from its winter sleep. The square version is so elegant.I under estimated the size of this umbrella. It’s huge and I am very glad I bought the purple leaf stand that goes with it, perfect fit. I’m glad I measured my patio which is 10 feet wide. Be sure you have plenty of room to swing it around and open and close it. I have to swing it around to close it because of my patio furniture. This is no problem because it rotates very easily around my patio. I have utilize the cantilever to shade my garden during the hot summer heat wave.

When this arrived, the tent/canvas had some holes. We went through the return process with Amazon and they were very helpful and responsive. Before we actually returned it, my husband decided to contact Purple Leaf. They were SO helpful. We sent pictures and order information and they sent a new tent/canvas without any question. I would highly recommend this umbrella - we have thoroughly enjoyed it and hope to continue for a long time. It's easy to use and very effective. And it looks very nice on our patio. I also recommend because both Amazon and Purple Leaf were GREAT to work with us when there was a problem.

It’s a really nice umbrella! It came in perfect condition (as I’ve seen some say theirs came broke.) Definitely worth the money. The umbrella is huge and is good quality. I’d definitely buy it again and recommend it to others. I LOVE, LOVE , LOVE the look of it on my patio!

I was surprised by the color, I was replacing a tan umbrella with this one, but trust me this is not Tan in color. It is a rusty brown. I will use it, but not real happy that it looks nothing like the picture.

Used this for about a month last summer. Really nice. Stored properly in the garage for winter. Set up this spring, and a gust of wind (nice sunny day, not any windier than usual) caught it and the plastic crank housing completely busted apart. The metal is so thin in the top pole and obviously brittle.There are no replacement parts and the seller was completely unhelpful. Only a 3 month warranty, so I guess you know how long they expect it to last. Don't waste your money. For $70 I expected a lot better quality. If I could give this zero stars, I would.

I recently purchased this umbrella and while it looks great, I was very disappointed by how weak the top joint is that allows the top of the umbrella to bend at an angle. A piece of broke off and now the umbrella just flops to the side all the time. Returned to Amazon.

Looked great when I first received it. Lights worked and easy crank lift. FIRST TIME I used it, the softest of a breeze and it snapped at the push button tilt mechanism. Ridiculous!! This is common. I had the option of returning to Amazon for full refund OR the manufacturer actually offered to replace the item, pay me $50 for my trouble only if I didn't write a negative review. Why did I return? Because they literally told me that I could keep the broken umbrella "for extra parts!" They knew the replacement would break!! This is a shame. Nice product but horribly made!! And by the way - if the wind gets up to 5mph, the instructions LITERALLY tell you to NOT use the umbrella. So ... basically ... you won't ever be able to use it b/c a sight wind is enough to make this snap!! Mine did!! And it's ridiculous!!

Love this umbrella and it works great. Color (turquoise/aqua blue) is beautiful. Tilt works great. I have it in a table in the middle of my patio seating area and it shades the whole area. Liked it so much I bought a 9 foot model for over my lounger.My only 2 issues are the switch for the lights is at the end of one of the ribs and as a shorter person (5'6"), I have to lower the umbrella to turn reach it. Also, with this being an 11 foot umbrella, getting to the handle to raise it can be a challenge since the umbrella comes down well past the handle.

Nice umbrella for it's kind, and for most can cost you up to $1,000, but one thing they all have in common is that none of them come what they refer to as a weight (stand). However for an umbrella this size, it acts as a "sturdy stand", hence given the water filled weight. You can't have any other. As it comes, your required to bolt down two cheap cross bars into your deck or slab, which now you have drilled holes into your foundation and it can't be moved! They're all necessary for this size & type umbrellas. Just another way to show a cheaper price and somewhat hide the needed weight within the description and not flag it out in front. Once you receive the product and realize this "missing necessity", you'll need to shall out another $147. It's known as selective advertising. They certainly now the need for it. Figuratively speaking, pretty soon you'll buy a car and come to find that the engine is additional. Lastly, there's no replacement cover, which also protects the solar panel that faces straight up. The cover will rot away in less than a year, due to one's climant and there's no customer service number provided and/or link. Now you know!

Purchased the water base and 12’ umbrella. Easy assembly - but BUYER BEWARE - Step 3 (Solar Assembly) should be done PRIOR to Step 2 (Umbrella Assembly). The directions call for you to step the umbrella onto the base, and THEN deal with the Solar Panel (which would be at the top of the umbrella, some 8’ off the ground).

I was very excited to get this 12' black umbrella for our deck after reading the reviews and seeing the the beautiful pictures with assorted colors to choose from. I had purchased the large base separately which fits perfectly with the umbrella. Having a solar panel to provide energy for lighting is a great idea and marketing tool but in actuality it DOES NOT WORK THAT WAY. My issues started during the assembly where it says connect the USB wire to the solar panel and feed the wire down through the middle of the top of the umbrella.....which I did. Then I attached the umbrella to the base and opened the umbrella and discovered 2 major issues: 1) The USB wire doesn't even connect to the battery from the solar panel. 2)There was a damaged support bar underneath the umbrella (see pics)I immediately looked for the support page in the assembly and operations guide to find a website with just an email and a separate email. NO PHONE NUMBER. So I emailed my concerns and they replied 2 days later saying that the battery housing needs to be unscrewed from the under structure, plug the USB into that and then plug the other end into a phone charger which then plugs into the wall. That is not what I had in mind for a "solar panel" powered light source. So I emailed again to ask how does the solar panel work??? They replied the next day saying the only way is with the phone charger method. Sent email #3 asking for them to call me on my cell since there was no phone number listed on their website or in the manual so we can discuss all the issues I am having. They called the next day in the afternoon and I could not answer for I was seeing a patient in the middle of a procedure (dentist) so they left a message saying " I am from purple leaf and calling you"...That's it! The number was a out of ordinary number with 13 numbers in the ID. I tried to call them back but could not complete the call. Sent email #4 asking to please call during my lunch hour which is 12-1 and I will definitely answer. They emailed back the next day saying they will call during the designated time and they NEVER did!!!!! I guess it's safe to say that I am using a damaged umbrella that is not solar powered and getting by with it. My message to anyone considering buying one of these umbrellas from purple leaf is that the support is a big fat JOKE and they don't seem to put any effort to stand behind their product and make things right for the consumer.Thanks!!!

This is a great umbrella for the price. It took no time to set up, the lights work great and the tilt mechanism works perfectly. One must keep in mind the price when reviewing this umbrella: the material is a little thinner than a more expensive brand and the pole is a little smaller, but for far less than $100 delivered, the value is definitely there! As stated in other reviews, there is no tie included to secure it when not in use so I sewed on on with a couple tacks, but you could easily use a bungee or any other tie. My only real gripe is that there is no stand included (but again taking into consideration value for price paid I’m still very satisfied). The pictures imply that it can be used in a table or fee standing, but without a stand specifically made for the umbrella I won’t test it’s strength with a generic stand. Again, the overall value for this umbrella is fantastic and we are very satisfied.

One of the best umbrellas I have seen and used. It came with extra LED bulbs which is always great. It is build solid, excellent fabric, water resistant fabric, very stable, easy to operate and solar charger is always a big plus. It cover my entire 6 chair and table comfortably. I highly recommend anyone who is looking for these types of umbrellas.

Awesome product! The LED lights work great, they're not super bright as to blind you, but enables you to sit outside at night without having a porch light on, while enjoying dinner with company. There is a neat switch inside the umbrella which enables you to turn them off and on with ease.Would purchase again!

We have a smaller deck, 10 x 10 and I was concerned this would be too big for the space, it is perfect. Shopped and looked at Sunbrella fabrics as wanted high quality fabric that doesn't look cheap, have had this out on our full sun from 9am to 3 pm deck, no fading so far, has weathered a couple good storms. we have ours in a small side table I also ordered and love from here on Amazon with 3 heavy cement patio pavers inside the side table. The umbrella has a tilt crank which is nice quality - darker, brown or matte like oil rubbed bronze which also matches the table I purchased. It is solar powered, has light strips inside/under part of umbrella and a ring light - can have one on or both, nice flip switch on under part of umbrella, need to make sure you have switch off during day so it charges, then has nice warmer lights for at night. Very happy so far with this purchase and would buy again! Also shipped fast through Amazon Prime, even during covid. another mention, the diameter of umbrella pole is perfect fit with table and underneath our side table top we are able to tighten the umbrella to help secure it from shifting. Has small vents on very top near solar charging plate. Love the Navy color!

Seems very sturdy. Plenty of shade. Crank mechanism works fine. Lights are indeed warm white and the solar charge lasts for hours.Took one star off because the bright aqua blue has faded SO much, it's now ice blue. It's only been up for 5 weeks or so!

i ordered these in various sizes for my yard. Initially I liked them. They arrived on time, were easy to assemble and looked good. It's now been a year and they are breaking even though I lower them in the wind and take them in when it rained. (rare here in San Diego). The positive is that they were inexpensive so I guess you get what you pay for.

I am one year late in writing this review, but better late than never. Attached are a couple of photos so you can see how it looks after a little over a year, still looks great and lights are still working. I stored the umbrella over the winter in the garage, this summer came, opened it up and all was well, then one day, I had a little issue with the umbrella not opening all the way fully. I contacted C-Hopetree, acknowledging that I was well outside of the Amazon return policy. They did not have to respond, but much to my surprise, not only did they respond, they sent very easy to follow instructions on how to get the umbrella back in a fully opened position. I had several email communications with them and really appreciate the fact that they were there "after the sale" a year and half "after the sale"- I am planning a pool remodel this fall, so time for a new C-Hopetree solar powered umbrella - maybe Red this time.

We keep it open almost always unless there are high winds so I am shocked at the amount of mildew. I wanted to love this umbrella due to the crank tilt and the lights, but it needed to last more than six weeks. I have contacted the seller to see if they will stand behind their product. Will update later.Update: seller sent us a brand new umbrella right away and it’s great. They also followed up to make sure everything was okay. Would purchase again.

The umbrella arrived quickly and in good condition. Easy to set up, and I made sure the battery was plugged in as reminded by many reviewers. I really like the options of having either the center light or the rib lights on, or both. It makes the umbrella more versatile - not just for use in the sun during the day, but also in the evening. I purchased this as an addition to my patio to cover a small seating area by the pool that stays in the sun most of the day. Works great. Perfect size. I purchased the teal and it is a very pretty color complementing the pool area and other accents I have. I love the crank tilt feature - I have always had a challenge with the "regular" tilt of umbrellas, and the crank feature makes it super easy. It has a velcro strap to help keep it closed when down, which, in my opinion, makes it look tidier. Other reviewers have mentioned it not seeming sturdy enough and to not use it in any breeze; however, it was up with a light breeze blowing without any issues. I do have it in an umbrella side table, not just a stand, so that may have helped it to be more stable as well. It seems sturdy enough - we will see how long it lasts. I'm please with the purchase.

I don’t love anything about this umbrella except the actual ability to block the sun and the color. We’ve never been able to get the LED lights work despite trying every which way it says on the directions. It is also a pain to put it up and down. Nothing about it is easy. It’s fine once it’s up but you can’t just leave it up all the time.

Recently made this purchase to replace, our old, red, faded 6 x 6 ft umbrella. This umbrella is much nicer than expected. After doing much research, I knew I wanted an umbrella that was not round, or square. Living in North Texas, the mid day heat, can really be miserable without shade. I know most fabric does fade in the sun and this is one reason I purchased the blue color. I figured, that if it fades to a light blue, or white, it would look like clouds! How happy! However, to extend the life of the umbrella, I do take it down when not using it. It is so effortless to attach/reattach and I just stick it in the corner of my porch, when not in use. I was happily surprised to see two separate switches, which control two different light options! (See pics). Wow, was I impressed. The light is not harsh and is just bright enough to be able to enjoy a game of cards with friends at night. The two lighting options, gives you enough subtle light and the option to give just a liiiiiitle extra, if desired. (see photos). The crank mechanism, is much smoother that my last $60 umbrella and the tilt mechanism is the same. The solar battery is a Lithium Ion battery that fits only my Nitecore D2 charge, due to its size. However, the solar panel works fine. My only little gripe, is that I wish the solar panel had a stronger, twisting locking mechanism. I am using the Abba Patio Umbrella Base to hold it. Overall, this umbrella is well built, easy to use, easy to detach/reattach to pole. I would absolutely purchase again!Update: I purchased this in 2018 and now it is summer 2021 and still going strong! A little faded in the Texas heat(last photo), but I don’t care. Using a water filled base helps keep it in place, when not in the table. Would still purchase again!

I got this umbrella and was initially pleasantly surprised at its durability and functionality. It provides great coverage and the lights are really super in the evening, providing a lovely glow and ambiance to our deck. The aqua blue is a very summery color and really adds a great punch of color to things. Easy to crank up and down. We can't quite close it 100%, as the arms are a bit longer than our table is high, but i can close about 95% of the way, which is just fine.However, after just 2 weeks it already broke, as one of the "arms" of the umbrella snapped in an extremely small amount of wind. While I realize the instructions indicate that you should close the umbrella when it's windy, you really can't have this open even in the slightest bit of wind. Disappointing to say the least.On the other hand, I cannot say enough nice things about the seller, as we had a bit of an issue with the original umbrella we received, which was quickly and easily resolved....and with a smile. Yet now I'm stuck with a broken umbrella, along with the original defective one.

We bought this for Mother's Day for my daughter. She was thrilled. It brightens the patio, shades the table, and works great. It even matches the set of umbrellas her neighbors have. The one down-side, I thought, was that the tie to secure the umbrella closed is only a foot or so from the top. Not even my son-in-law can reach over the table and secure it. He has to climb on a chair. It would be much better if the tie was a foot up from the bottom.

After I connected the solar panel connector to the bulbs, it worked fine! It is a beautiful umbrella. I like the double venting in aesthetics and function. The 11 foot diameter wingspan is perfect to keep the sun off the table occupants during the hot part of the day.

The pole and stems are pretty sturdy and will probably hold up for quite a bit of time. Unfortunately, one of the LED strips doesn’t light up which subtracts two stars from an otherwise 4.5 star product. The other .5 star deduction would be that it’s slightly better than the cheaper versions in its sturdiness. We get high winds where I live and I won’t be leaving this umbrella open during a wind storm.

Great umbrella! The solar lights are on the blueish side but do cast a nice glow to sit under and converse. The small on and off switch is a nice feature and the light beige color is more off white which is what I wanted. It is a very nice white. It also seems to be pretty durable as mine blew over in some heavy winds and survived unscathed.

Since day one.We have a similar umbrella, adjacent to this one, purchased from a local big box retailer for a little more cost, and it’s 200 times better than this piece of junk.Our other lighted umbrella purchased at the big box store has beautiful natural white LED lighting. The one reviewed here has that terrible, bluish super white and very dated and poor quality LED technology, and it’s incredibly dim compared to the other one.I am going to trash this noisy, floppy piece of junk and purchase another big box model which is solid as a rock.Caveat emptor.

Out of the box impressed! Didn’t feel this woul likely be a top grade umbrella given the price but I must say I think I stand corrected. The actual canopy material is much thinner than the one I paid about 4 times as much for but I have to say the pole is much better and that’s what I needed most. My pole had the tilt pin break out during a bad storm so I just needed the rod to replace the broken one but I’m so impressed that I’m going to use it as new out of the box and if the canopy fades I’ll just switch them out at that time. I think anyone would be very pleased with this at this price! If not, you must be difficult to please. just my honest opinion. The solar lights even worked right out of the box and the umbrella was neatly packaged with extra care to ensure mint condition on delivery!Ps.... it is a true burgundy/wine. Not red at all.

This is one of the best purchases I've made through Amazon, and I've bought a lot of stuff from them over these past many years. Here are the facts on this umbrella. It was inexpensive compared to its quality. It's outside in the SoCal sunshine everyday. I use the solar lights every night we're outdoors without fail - and we spend a lot of time outdoors. That's the short of it. Okay, it's an umbrella. What else can I say? Just this; the wind blew pretty hard one afternoon, and the umbrella left its stand, fully open, and flew to the far side of the pool, landing on its canopy, where it sunk to the bottom of the pool. I came home to see the umbrella's pole sticking straight up out of the water. Not good, right? Long story short: no damage. Period. No bent or broken ribs, the crank works, the solar panel works and believe it or not the lights still work. This thing was submerged completely. When I retrieved it, water was dripping from every seam, every light bulb, the On/Off switch. If there was a place for water to get in, water got in. I didn't expect it to come through an aerial somersault into a pool unscathed, but it did. For $77? Are you kidding me? This thing is da bomb.

These umbrellas are very sturdy in the wind but are not fade resistant. As you can see from the photos, one of the umbrellas has faded to a pale color after being out in the sun for only a little over three months. The darker umbrella is a new one I just purchased so I would have a “matching” pair. The mismatch in color is very disappointing.I had another one of these umbrellas for a few years before it was blown into a thorny tree in a wind storm and the fabric got torn and the tilt got stuck where it wouldn’t stand up straight. It seemed like it lasted a long time before failing so I recently purchased two more. Plus I love the green color. If only they didn’t fade so quickly!!

Love this umbrella it is seriously amazing! I never take it down and the LED lights help so much at night. I recommend buying this product if you like to hang out on your patio and not have to much light at night. The color was exactly what I wanted. It is not heavy at all I can carry it on my own. As it's probably past the warrantee period, I'll resort to trying to fix it myself. Honestly, after normal and careful use this crank problem should not happen given the price of the unit.

Product is way more flimsy than I expected. The crank part is cheap plastic, very wobbly & feels like it will break at any moment. I had better not forget to close it with even a bit of wind. It makes a terrible squealing sound when you crank to open it and has a difficult time going all the way up. I paid more money to buy this one as opposed to other options on the market because I wanted something of better quality that would last more than a season. While the fabric canopy part seems better than others I’ve tried, I don't think this will last long because of the poor quality and already unstable umbrella pole & crank. It was bad right out of the box. Maybe I got a defective unit, but I’m not really happy with this quality considering the price I paid.

So disappointing. This is my second umbrella as it replaced the same one with a visible flaw in the fabric. Now this one has a defect in construction. Where the tilt is on the umbrella pole and from that point up, the umbrella has a very visible bend to it. The shade is seriously not level at all. Looks like it has a broken pole! I should have sent this back within the window of return. The problem is hard to see in the photos but it’s very obvious in person. After returning the first exact one, and now this problem, do not buy this!!! Very bad construction and this probably won’t last past this season. Ugh.

The media could not be loaded. Shipped on time, took out of package and installed it by direction (easy and direct). Took outside and put it onto my table. Later that night tried lights, worked fine. About month later without even using lights since that first day I decided was a nice night to have people over and sit on deck and have a few cold ones. So as I opened Umbrella and tried turning on lights it would turn on for a split second and turn off? I tried again same thing. now it wont even turn on. 100% sunny day. Very disappointed in the quality of the electricals. The Fabric seems sturdy and hasn't faded at all but the lights...Thats the reason I got this thing.

Nice umbrellas. I previously had light up LED umbrellas from a more expensive store (something like Kohl's or Bed Bath & Beyond, not sure it was a gift) and after those had blown over and broke, I needed a replacement.This umbrella fit the bill because it had LED's just like my old one, and since I needed two, the price was right. My old umbrella was around $200, so getting two of these for less than that was a huge plus.This definitely isn't as good as the higher priced umbrella and doesn't have as many features. Old umbrella had a wired plug that could be used if the battery was dead and a switch that was located slightly above the hand crank. This umbrella's switch is on one of the splines (I guess that's what you call them) and is pretty cheap. One of my umbrellas came with a lot of loose threads on the canopy, which I simply scissored off.One of them already fell into my pool, despite being in a weighted umbrella stand and being closed. Luckily, no structural damage was done to the umbrella. The solar panel that held the battery was rusted by the time I got home and opened it up and the positive battery wire was disconnected. I was pleased to find a nice sized 18650 battery inside. I'm electrically inclined, so I'll clean up the contacts and solder the battery lead back onto the terminal, which should fix it. The battery should allow the lights to last a good number of hours but I haven't had good enough weather to sit out all night with the lights on to test this.Overall, a great umbrella for the price! Don't expect it to last forever, but for how cheap they are you can probably replace them every year without breaking the bank.

We needed a new Umbrella for our pool deck and came across this one during our search. It was on sale for a good price. I ordered it and received it within a week's time. I read the reviews prior to the purchase and the biggest complaint I came across was the lights or some of the lights not working. For me the lights were just a bonus and not a necessity. Took ours out of the box and set it up and the first night we turned it on sure enough one arm of the lights did not and does not work. We tried the replacements and they didn't fix the problem. But, as I mentioned before, they were just a bonus so no biggie. However, if there was one thing that they could definitely change on this umbrella it needs to be where the placement of the handle for opening and closing the umbrella is placed. You have to pull on the bottom of the umbrella to open it slightly to reach your hand up into it to reach the handle and then turn it to finish opening it the remainder of the way. First one we have owned where the handle was not easily accessible. If not for that issue I would have rated this 5 stars.

The umbrella is nice. The lights are actually pretty bright. However, the pole that it comes with is extremely cheap! The smallest gust of wind bent the pole and snapped it in half. I tried contacting the company and no response. Be cautious on the absolutely cheap material the pole is made of. Horrible communication from the company!

Year old update: This product arrives and sets up very easily! It seemingly is a great quality and looks beautiful! HOWEVER, the lights would not consistently work within the first month. In working w customer service they provided a new solar battery and this did not repair the issue. The solar battery would store during the day and work while sun was out (when you don’t need lights) but not at all in the evening. After working with customer service multiple times they were suggesting that I do some thing on my end that just never worked. I gave up working with the company and just used it without the lights. Last month, without any winds happening and with the umbrella down, the umbrella snapped on the bend in the adjustable pole...Metal pieces came apart. No storm, no wind, and it just snapped. This umbrella is beautiful and seemingly high-quality. However, it just has been a problem for me from the start. In replacing the umbrella, I would not choose this company. Maybe it is a fluke thing but they did not replace the umbrella and make it right from the start.

I chose this one due to the negative reviews of all other companies. It’s been pretty windy with a lot of rain and I put it down for that for precaution , but happy so far. Denver sun bleaches everything instantly so we scotchguarded and bought the covers since the main selling point was that black matches the trim on our newly painted house. No fading so far and no weird damage like some mentioned. This company was great to do business with. My only gripe is that the stick to hold stability is about eight feet hight and so is the double light switch. It’s not dark yet, so you can’t tell, but the lights are just the right bright and nice you can use one or both. I’ve never seen a black solid market umbrella before. My house is white with black trim, solid black roof, and red brick. It looks très chic with the umbrellas. Just turn the lights on before you raise it unless you’re hiring a basketball player. Also, I had to plug the solar panel in on top-took two seconds, but I would have thought the lights didn’t work. The switch goes to “0” for lights and l to charge. I think my husband manually turns it off in the morning. I love my umbrellas!! So, I bought these in late May or early June. We had a lot of rain during that time so they weren’t installed until about mid-June. So many people complain about the color fading and I was worried about that as well. So here’s the update on September 17th: color is just as vivid black as when I first installed them. Bought on April 13th; it is now May 23. Two complaints:We bought this umbrella to go with our other two umbrellas and expected it to withstand the same level of moderate wind/breezes that the others have endured for years, but this is not the case. Our old market umbrella is also 11 ft. across with the same tiered design. We had all three umbrellas up all last night, and did not even hear any wind. This morning, the brand-new umbrella, that this review is about, was the only one with the broken tilt mechanism. The umbrella was flopped over on the side. All other umbrellas were still standing pretty.Second problem is that the lights did not work even after fully charging. If you care about the lights you could risk getting this, but they might not work.

Nice, good-sized patio umbrella. Didn't realize it is not continuous one piece but 3-tier parts! So rain will get inside when it's down. Hopefully it doesn't get rusty musty over years

The media could not be loaded. Arrived with screws having fallen out of the canopy support hinge. Had to fix it. Umbrella performs as an umbrella but the stand is not rated for the weight of the product the vertical pole bends. You cannot use in any wind over 5mph. See photos and video to see the bend in the stand and poles even when it is not open.

I purchased this umbrella and the first one the center hub light didn’t work . I was so disappointed because the lights were why I loved this product. I spoke to an Amazon rep who helped me get in touch with the seller. The seller who was amazing sent this replacement within 4 days of and the center light works. I loved the quick turnaround and response of this seller. My summer will be spent enjoying my umbrella. Thank You so much both to you and the Amazon rep. Would recommend or buy another product from this company.

At first glance you see a nice umbrella but once you put it together you realize right away its a poor design. The pole is not strong enough to hold the umbrella. Even after you purchase a sturdy base. I would not recommend.

The product itself is a good product. However, when I ordered my umbrella what was sent to me was not what was representative of the product I believed to have purchased. Amazon did offer me good alternatives for the return. I just printed out the return label and took the half umbrella to my nearest KOHL's Department store and that was it. KOHL's has a customer service counter specifically for Amazon returnsThe C-Hopetree 9' umbrella is great if you happen to have a Juliet balcony which it's intended for.

The lights are really nice and warm light. My only complaint is that when I start winding it down with the handle, I have to help it go initially by pushing the umbrella down. Then I can wind it down with the handle the rest of the way.
